Her Worst Nightmare

Her Worst Nightmare

Unable to wrench my morbidly-curious gaze away. Severed hands, cut off at the wrist, floated in large jars. Each jar was plugged with a wide cork stopper, sealed with wax that had dripped and hardened around the rim. They were lined up along the many shelves on either side of the aisle, until all I could see was row upon endless row of pale puffy hands, floating like ghostly apparitions under the dim Vault lights. Each hand was suspended in clear fluid, although in some of the jars further down the aisle, the outer edges of the hand blurred in a haze of cloudy liquid, as if they had been here for some time.

The Swan Dance

The Swan Dance

"Get me another shirt… the gray one." With practiced ease, he stripped off the white shirt he had just put on and raised his hand toward me, waiting, as he always did, for me to hand him the freshly pressed one. The phone screen still glowed. I caught sight of Janine’s message: "Mr. Quinn, tonight’s event requires a gray suit." The professional tone was undercut by a playful cat emoji that followed right after. "What are you staring at? Where’s the shirt?" When I didn’t respond, irritation hardened his features.

The Invincible Goddess

The Invincible Goddess

Suddenly, she saw Harry pointing at a certain location, and the man playfully teased her in his low and pleasant voice as he asked, “Nene, do you think that little thing looks like you?” “What?” Sienna looked in the direction that Harry was pointing and saw two beautiful and cute big white swans standing by the corner of the wall. The movements of these two big white swans were almost synchronized, and their feathers were white and spotless. The swans’ slender necks were slightly bent, and as Harry and Sienna stared at them, the two big white swans suddenly lowered their necks and then rushed toward them in a clumsy and swift manner! Sienna knew that this meant trouble, so she grabbed Harry

SINFUL BOND: MATED TO THE CRUEL ALPHA

Chapter 150: The Choice to Let Go Jarrel sat by the open window, his gaze fixed on the cold, silent landscape outside. The night air drifted in, filling the room with a sharp chill, but he barely noticed. His focus was fixed on a single object cradled in his hands: a small wooden bird-shaped flute, its delicate neckpiece carved with intricate feathers, each line a testament to the care and patience it had taken to create it.

From Disgrace to Glory: Rise Of The True Heiress

From Disgrace to Glory: Rise Of The True Heiress

She pulled the small box from her pocket and examined it, trying to figure out how to open it. Her finger accidentally pressed something, and the box suddenly popped open. Inside was a delicate little brooch in the shape of a swan. A large blue crystal adorned the swan's feathers, sparkling brilliantly and immediately drawing the eye. Vessara picked up the brooch and turned it over in her hand. It was small, lightweight, and clearly made from high-quality materials. But why had Christina given it to her? Confused, Vessara looked up at Razen, who already had the faintest smile playing at the corners of his lips.

AFTERGLOW | Feralis Series No. 1

How stupid of me. Then, I watched her mumble something in a language alien to me, her right hand glowing as well as her eyes. In a blink, a bird materialized in her hand, molded from the earth, and it opened its eyes, the same color as its maker. With several beats of its wings looking like real feathers, soft to caress, it flew out of the open window.

Blood Romance

Blood Romance

He glared at me while I chuckled at his playful frustration. “Aww.” I hopped off the kitchen counter and approached him. I handed him the salt shaker with a smile, placing a kiss on his cheek. Then I extended my hand towards the nearby wine glasses on the shelf, my eyes fixed on them intently. With a gentle motion of my fingers, the glasses lifted gracefully into the air, hovering before me in a mesmerizing dance. Jonathan watched in awe as I effortlessly manipulated the objects with my mind. The glasses twirled and spun, forming intricate patterns in the air before settling back onto the shelf with a soft clink.

TRUST ME

TRUST ME

There were two rather odd-looking small hangman’s nooses of silver braided twine, each with a metal slide at the knot. There was a long slender, colorful feather duster, a string of dark red beads, the size of marbles, two small silver egg-shaped items attached to wires and hooked to a small black box. There were two golden balls on a green ribbon, about the size of candy jawbreakers, two ribbed tubes - one short and black with what appeared to be a thistle blossom on the end, and the other long and thin in pearl white, with a tapered curved end. There was a plug-in handheld massager, like the one Papa used on his knee, and another ribbed device of sky blue with a tiny bunny on the front, an

Kicking Him to the Curb

Kicking Him to the Curb

"I'm happy as long as you're happy." Aspen nodded and unconsciously nestled into Aren's embrace, feeling his warmth and heartbeat. They watched until the balloons disappeared from sight before continuing to wander through Old City's alleyways. Just then, a craft shop in the corner of Old City caught Aspen's attention. It displayed various handmade items, creating a dazzling array. "Pen, what do you think of this crystal figurine?" Aren picked up an intricately detailed crystal swan. Aspen took the figurine and examined it carefully. "The craftsmanship on this crystal piece is really excellent. It's so lifelike and detailed."
