MORTEM

MORTEM

That is why my heart is pounding fast again and my body begins to shake. “Jayvee” I whispered. I stand up and run to him to see who it was but then he walks to the other side of the tree. “Wait!” I said and he didn’t even look back. That is why I followed him. When I was surprised that he was gone and I didn't know where he went. My eyes were wide open and I became scared when I saw a woman hanging dead in the tree. Her eyes almost popped up and her hair was so messy. The wind is blowing her. She is swinging left and right. She is swinging dead at the tree while her head is bowed down and I feel like she is looking at me.

Starkville:- Book Three of The Wolf Without a Name

Starkville:- Book Three of The Wolf Without a Name

Where my mom and I would have a picnic together and be repeatedly told that it was the area she and dad met under the full moon. "Arissa! Arissa!" Cleo calls me; wanting me to stop. I ignored her and continue to run. I needed to know if what she told me was true. Nor did I wanted to believe it. My mom would never do such a thing, knowing that I only had her and leave me all alone. "Mom!" I called out almost reaching the tree. As I got close to the three. I stop instantly, seeing my mom hanging from the tree with a rope around her neck within the pretty pink dress she left the house in and too the dress dad had always loved seeing her in; encircled by numerous pack members.

I truly enjoy this novel. I read all off A.K. Knights novels. Enjoy the fact that they're not on going to the point it's a waste of time and money. Excited to see the next chapters to come I'm also reading alphas obsession.

Mating Moon - Asara Pack

Mating Moon - Asara Pack

I raced through the trees. Relieved at the sight of my cottonwood. I did a handstand against it, still clutching the meat in my closed fist, as I threw my weight up with inhuman strength. Folding my feet into the crook and dropping them over the ledge. Letting the weight of my legs drag me into this bigger hollow. Unfortunately, this one was chest level with Jaecar and far wider. But when I hid in these trees, I was invisible. No one can find me.

The Alpha’s Greatest Enemy: Return of the Bastard Luna 2

The Alpha’s Greatest Enemy: Return of the Bastard Luna 2

"You claim to be a high vanguard commander of the Nightbane pack, yet you cannot even negotiate a slick slope without nearly breaking your neck. Hold onto this before you embarrass us both." Darius grumbled under his breath, taking the makeshift cane. "I am built for open battlefield slaughter, not mountain goat maneuvers." We pushed past the thicket, the pine needles crunching beneath our heavy leather boots. After nearly thirty minutes of climbing the treacherous ridge, a massive, ancient mountain persimmon tree burst into view through the thinning fog. High in its towering branches, bright crimson fruits hung like glowing embers against the grey sky. Darius paused, leaning on his branch.

Mr. President's Lost Wife

Mr. President's Lost Wife

Seeing Sky hugging a tree with both arms and feet, she sighed in disbelief. “Honey, what are you doing? That's not climbing a tree." Sky's laughter grew lighter. “Now I understand why koalas like to hug trees like this. That's because they're tired, Mama. Climbing a tree is very difficult.” “If you're tired, just come down. You can continue later. Now you better help Mama pick mangoes. Didn't you say you wanted to harvest fruit in the forest?” “No, Mama. I can't give up. I have to go up to that branch. About harvesting fruit, didn't I already collect five mangoes in the basket? I think that's enough to make fruit salad, Mama."

Just like the other readers. I cried so much because of the father & daughter. It's saddening but also heartwarming. It's a great book. . I enjoyed Ed, Alice & Sky's adventure Now, looking forward to Sky, Louis & Emily's own adventure.

Finished this sweet and relaxing story. Ed really behaved like a dick so his motive doesn't hold up. Sometimes a bit too elaborate so I skipped a bit but Sky is no doubt a marvelous kid. I was curious about Alice's mindset which was not really explained but Sky made up a lot. Worth reading!

The Prince's Guard

The Prince's Guard

He inched his hands up the trunk, trying to give them a view without sacrificing his balance. “You hurt?” “No. Just a heavy night.” “We’ll get you help, just stay nice and still.” Jaxson sighed. He couldn’t run even if he wanted to. If he stood his ground they’d be unable to move him, but that would bring more questions than he wanted. Their kind could not be known to humans. “I think there’s been a misunderstanding, officer.” “I think you’re in some kind of trouble. These lads said they found you hanging in the tree.”

Pregnant By The Alpha

Pregnant By The Alpha

“Take to the trees. Now.” Without hesitation, she crouched, cupping her hands to give Jasper a boost. He leapt up, gripping a thick branch, and pulled himself higher. Miranda lifted Cora next, and Jasper caught her, steadying her as she scrambled into place. Miranda followed swiftly, her movements fluid and practiced. They settled high in the tree, concealed by thick leaves and shadows. Jasper peered down, his breath shallow. Below them, two figures emerged from the darkness, moving with purpose. One of them, a male, paused, his nose lifting as if scenting the air.

Falling for the Rogue

Falling for the Rogue

We can get through this as long as we’re alive. “I was so worried about you,” I say, nuzzling against his chest. “I was worried about you,” he admitted. “They’re going to send more though. We don’t have time for this yet.” He lets me go and we keep running for a little longer. Then he stops in front of one of the tallest trees I’ve ever seen. The canopy spirals up into the forest, so hidden by leaves that it’s impossible to see the sky through them. Lance takes out the moonstone again, masking our scent. Then, he climbs up onto the first branch of the tree.

Alora's Windsong

Alora's Windsong

Snow shook off the branches as the tree leaned and fell gently into his arms. Sam chopped his smaller one while Beth cheered him like a sideline coach. And as I was about to give up, I saw a dove sitting in one of them. That was my sign. “This one, Baby! It’s a tree of love.” It was perfect, about 7 feet high and full too. By sundown, the hummer was parked with all three trees strapped to the top — Beth’s toward the back, ours toward the front. And Lyra’s on top Blaise tightened the ropes. I held the branches steady so the needles didn’t snag.

Dwell with Snaedis

Dwell with Snaedis

One must target anything that it bears, not just the branches. When I pulled on the activator, the launcher lets out a large size ball, with powder that stimulates fire as it lands. As I carefully comprehend the distance and the time it takes, the launch was successful. The tree's bearing and its branches broke on the land as it slowly disappears with the help of the launching fire. Flora fell on the ground while moving an inch of her body senses. But, it was not over yet. Countless monster trees kept appearing in the area, so I jumped away from the mountainous elevation towards her. When I landed on her side, I quickly held her pulse and ran away towards the nearest horse alive.
