With the aid of my thumb and my index fingers, I picked out the book, ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I walked to the windows and parted both curtains sideways, giving up space for sunlight and fresh air. I plopped onto my bed, my back against the ceiling and I placed my elbows on a pillow and the book in front of my face, just in place for a nice time with myself and the author. “Do you have the spell book?” Hazel nodded and reached for the spell book lying on the floor. She handed it to Halle, who snatched it from her hands and immediately flipped through the pages. The room was dead silent as Halle searched the book, her eyes scanning the ancient text until she paused. Her brow furrowed, and then her expression darkened. “The page…” Halle’s voice was low, laced with fury. “It’s been torn out.” “What?” Hazel leaned closer, her eyes widening as she saw that the page with the spell she had cast was indeed missing and ripped clean from the book.

It sounded like whispering, but it was too quiet to make out what was being said. I crept closer, my ears perked up, and that's when I saw it. A small, leather-bound book lying on the ground outside Ariana's den. I picked it up, feeling a shiver run down my spine. The book was locked, but I managed to pick the lock after a few minutes of fiddling with it. As I opened the book, I was shocked by what I saw. The pages were filled with dark magic spells and incantations, and there were strange symbols etched into the margins.

The Little Mermaid popped out at me, as did The Emperor's New Clothes, but I thought maybe a story that people are foolish in public wouldn’t be the best choice. Then I looked around some more and picked up Floca’s Moonshot: The Flight of Apollo 11, Lewis’s The Wolf, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and Dahl’s Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and a few others. I paused at the Harry Potter series, but while the girls were old enough, being werewolves, for the story, I knew the sizes of the books would put them off. Next year, I thought. They’d have handled textbooks by then and wouldn’t be so rapidly opposed to books an inch thick or more.

She was slowly becoming agitated as Harry kept on staring at her and waiting for a reply. "That was a long time ago, Harry, how would you expect me to remember?" Harry raised an eyebrow, staring at her suspiciously. If there was one thing he was certain about, his little girl would never ever forget her favorite book. She talked about it a lot and it seems she read the book more than fifty times. Harry remembewred the fact that she used to explain the book to him, hook line and synched. "Well, it's Throne of glass..." He replied, still looking her up suspiciously.

She was being flagged down by at least three different groups. I finished my meals and ale after about and hour of musing in the main room. I passed the time by bringing out the black leather-bound book out of my pack. It was my personal gift to myself. My own spell book. It only had two cantrips inside of it right now but I was excited about the space I would be filling up. There was plenty of room to add as many spells as I wanted. I could easily add in a hundred spells before I was tapped for space.

I dragged myself up and went to see what was going on reluctantly. “Come with me.” She said in an excited voice and led us to the back of the tree where a huge symbol was engraved. A four-petalled flower. Each of the red petals contained a symbol; a dragon, a werewolf, two witches. The only difference between this symbol and the symbol of code red was the Heart of magic in the center. Her eyes lit up as she said, “Isn’t this symbol self-explanatory.” Zarina, Aslan, and Caleb looked at her dumbfounded. To be honest even I didn’t know what we were supposed to do with this symbol.

"Charmy, I need your help. Check these books for me and look for any information regarding the sorceress named Delicia or a sorceress that made their name in Apothecary class, 20 years ago." After giving her instruction, Audrey placed another pile of books in front of Cha rmy. Just like before, another cloud of dust raised from the cover of the books as soon as it landed on the table. Charmy tried her best to flap her cute tiny wings to fan the dust away from her. "You're joking right???? Do you honestly expect me to read books??!!!" All manner of weird items such as wands, amulets, funny little dolls, jars of unidentifiable items and even skulls of very weird animals which Tara couldn't tell if they were real or not. The whole place was freaking her out and rain or not she decided to leave. But as she passed the last shelf before the door a book caught her eye.
