“As long as we’re together, we’ll be okay, right?” A tender smile touched my lips as I squeezed both my kids closer to my sides. “Absolutely, my love. We’re a team, and nothing can break us apart. We’ll face whatever comes our way, and we’ll overcome it, together.”

But we will find a way to conquer each of them—together. I was ready to get started.

And I knew that no matter what it held, we would face it side by side. “Whatever it is, I want it with you,” I said without hesitation. “I want everything with you, Stefan. Always.” He smiled, a slow, satisfied smile that made my pulse quicken. “That’s exactly what I want too.” He leaned down, his lips brushing against my ear as he whispered, “We’ll take on the world together. No one can stop us.” A thrill raced through me at his words. He was right. Together, we were unstoppable. We had already faced our fair share of obstacles, but none of it had torn us apart. In fact, it had only made us stronger.

We were building something new. Together.

I murmured. “Together we’re incredible, but that also means we’re a threat.”
