Ink walks over to me asking if I was okay, I smile thanking him where he shakes his head. "I should be the one thanking you, you helped me get out of a situation where I'd probably be in to the day I died" he smiles, I mean I didn't do much I just knew what was best for him "oh I got you this, back when we had our first conversation you mentioned something about mice drinking milk, so I thought I'd buy you a book" he smiles, handing me a little book with a mouse on the front, I can't believe he remembered that was so long ago. He picks Amelia up telling me he wanted to show her a cool fish tank, while I flip through the book, once I find the answer I turn to look at Blake.

Most of the books had scribbles but I really didn't mind as long as I could read. Something caught my eye behind a stack of Enid Blyton's books on the upper shelf. Something shiny. I wheeled back, trying to get a good look at the mysterious cover. Holy. Macaroni. Was that Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban? I just had to get that book.

She beamed as she carried a pink paper bag. "What is this?" I shoved my hand in and pulled the furry thing out. "A panda!" Besides makeup, I loved stuffed animals. I had a bunch of them on my bed to keep me warm at night. "Thank you so much!" I hugged Norma and she giggled. "This one's from me!" Mey handed me a striped blue paper bag. I almost dropped it since the weight caught me by surprise. I pulled out two books and laughed once I saw the first book's cover: Harry Potter for Dummies.

(Harper’s POV) “I’m sorry, what now?” I stared at Harry, dumbfounded. He flicked through some more pages of the book and then turned it to face me. I apprehensively looked down at the book. The page was titled “Bloodline” and there was a picture of a wicked-looking blade down one side. The writing was a little faded and handwritten, but despite all that, it felt so familiar and I could read it, like it was something I had read a thousand times before.

"I can barely spell it let alone know what it is." Harry blinked and cocked his head. "I don't think I realised how truly terrible you were at maths." "Hey!" Brooklyn snapped. "Not all of us are smartasses!" Harry walked over to Brooklyn who was lying in front of her books. He crouched down in front of her and looked at her book. "You see that there," Harry pointed to the book and then explained the question to Brooklyn. He watched as she frowned, clearly not understanding it. "I get it," Brooklyn said.

Mr Collins instructs after he's finished his angry typing. “Reading what?” I ask. “That,” he points to a book that's on the couch where Theo had been sitting moments before. “What the…” I start to ask, then shake my head, “Right away, Professor Dumbledor,” I snark, picking up the book as he leaves the office. The book looks like a modern school textbook, but the title, ‘The Spark’ has me turning to the first page eagerly to finally get some freaking answers!

So there must be more than one layer then… Ugh… it hurts my brain just trying to dissect it all. Nevertheless, the main primary target still remains ensuring that Harper passes the maid selection competition. That much I know of. Just then, Harper notices my silence, and stares at me with a questioning gaze. But I confidently smirk instead. Tossing her the booklet of magic spells that I had obtained from the old wizard. I watch her expression shift into excitement. She shimmies closer to the book with an adorable amount of joy. Clearly happy about what I’ve given her. There were neat, small sticky notes poking out from almost every single chapter. I opened to the first marked page. In Maverick’s handwriting, there was a note that read: “Does page 14 mean the data moves faster if you shorten the string? Let me know if I got that right.” I stared at the note, my heart feeling so light that I felt like a teenager again. I looked up at him, completely stunned. "Maverick... did you buy a coding textbook?"

This fanboy is too interested in Earth. "An Ouija Board. Not wija." I corrected him. "It's this rectangular board with a bunch of letters lined up. The material is similar to those of book covers." "Does it flip and has this triangular shape stone with a circular hole?" I gave Ace a look of both surprise and fear. "How'd you know that?" I gasped. "Are you secretly summoning undead spirits to join your demon army so you can become the demon lo-" Before I could finish, Ace was up on his feet. "Mutt, carry the princess to the library. Fangster, make sure the mutt doesn't do something funny."

Every so often, she turned and looked at the adorable four-year-old and smiled, asking if she were all right. It was Jane, not Lizzy, who answered a positive response each time.
