Without thinking, I started running, following the scent, turning left and right. Within a minute, I was out of the ruins. There, standing with her arm around her waist, was Lily, scanning the area nervously.
“Lily!” I shouted, running toward her.
She flinched, her eyes darting around, clearly searching for the source of my voice. “Sera?” she asked, still unable to see me as I closed the distance between us.
