Veronica's POV: My heart pounded in my chest as I turned to face Draco, his eyes now consumed by a bottomless void of darkness. Fear gripped me, for I knew what this meant - his insatiable thirst for blood had taken hold of him. Every fiber of my being screamed at me to run, to escape the imminent danger that lurked within the once gentle soul of the man that just saved me. My heart raced wildly as I recalled the legends and myths surrounding vampires, their eyes turning black in the throes of bloodlust.

For a brief second, Maria could have sworn he passed out, till she heard whimpering sounds coming from him. Was he- was he crying?!

She said with a frown and a cute pout. Harry was going to tell her something when Vidhant cut him off and while giving him a wink, said to Swara, “I think he is a vampire, as I also doubt him, you know once I saw him drinking something red,” Vidhant said in a most serious tone. Harry just turned his face to control his laughter after hearing the cold-blooded lie of Vidhant.

Behind them, Guy began to yell. “Excuse me for one moment.” Unlike Meguitte, Harry had been turned with all the benefits of vampirism, and covered the distance with ease, knocking the gun from one soldier’s hands, before turning the other man into a tight embrace, back to chest, and pulling the trigger. The gunfire barked out its vicious tat-tat-tat, and blood sprayed out over the pavement and the greenery of the native-inspired landscaping before the soldier collapsed onto the ground. Harry drank from the second soldier, tearing out the human’s throat and dumping the bodies into a neat pile.

She couldn't outrun him, even she should know that. The vampire became a blur before he was right in front of the girl, forcing her into a skidding halt. He grabbed her frail, shaking body by her arm, his smirk growing more menacing as his fangs came into view. She didn't even have time to beg before the vampire sank his teeth into her neck earning another high-pitched scream. I just stood there, horrified. I've seen that girl before, and that was not her Master. I looked towards my Master as if he would help the girl.

“I would recognize the cover anywhere. It’s in my apartment.” His brows shot up to his hairline as he studied my face. “Is this Anna a witch?” He asked. I shook my head, biting my lower lip. “She’s now a vampire,” I told him, my voice dropping to a whisper, not wanting the others to hear. Fury flashed through his eyes, and I saw the speckle of red in his eyes like I saw earlier. It made me shudder. A cold breeze attacked my flesh causing goosebumps to form on my skin and make me shiver.

“And we have magical reinforcements, many of which will be on their way here shortly. Witches with skills in healing and warding. They will help secure this location.” “That’s good. Look,” Rohan ran his hand through his hair. “We found two… zombies,” he didn’t like using the word. “Wandering around the houses. These ones were more… like people. We secured them. You said that you have a cure?” “Me,” Harry said with a smile. “I believe I am the cure.” “Thank you, Harry,” Talen said with a slight nod of his head. “The vampire blood of my line is a cure for this disease, and Harry is one of my children.”
