All my men kept saying she was the wettest woman they've ever touched. Zack no longer could contain his fury and hatred upon hearing that. He rushed toward the man. However, he was no match for a drug dealer who had lived through hell and back. The man sent Zack flying with just a kick. Blood trickled down the corner of Zack's mouth as he collapsed hard onto the ground. My heart ached. I rushed over to stand in front of Zack, wanting to stop the man. Yet, his fist went straight through my body. Only then did I remember that I was already dead, with only a lingering soul left.

Adeline screamed, desperately struggling against the woman's hold. Even as Aling Maria tried to hold her back, considering her condition, Adeline fought her way free. She ran out the door, rushing outside without caring about her surroundings. She searched every corner of the yard for Matthew. She walked away, heading toward the vast flower plantation where the blossoms had witnessed the intense sweetness of their love the night before. She cried out with all her might, screaming the young man's name, hoping Matthew was just out there hiding or picking flowers for her.

They didn’t divorce, but they didn’t seem to reconcile anytime soon. Before Clavier could say anything, Adeline collapsed, and he rushed in to catch her body. “Adeline!” Clavier called as her eyes were slowly closing. He touched her forehead and felt her skin was burning hot as if she was grilled alive. There were red markings all over her arms. With her shaking hands, she reached for something inside the pocket of her jacket. “What’s this?” Clavier asked. “The drug...the First Elder’s blood used to produce the drug...and the research data….” Adeline replied softly before losing consciousness.

Arsenio said. “Then kill me!!! Both of you just turn your guns towards me and kill me!!! What is the essence of staying alive when my two children have no love or regard for me????!!! Both of you kill me now!!!!” Adaline yelled as she suddenly held her chest. At that moment, she didn't understand what was going on anymore as she suddenly felt an intense pain and tightness on her chest. Her vision suddenly became blurry and she could only hear echoes of voices. Adaline could neither talk nor could she scream as she continued holding her chest.

Kaden’s eyes glazed over as he mind linked his men, and half of them took off with Dylan’s corpse. When I glanced back at the tree where he was laid against, I could see no trace of whatever transpired left. It’s as if it never happened. Even the scent vanished when they took away his corpse. Then, I felt Adeline grow uneasy. “That feeling earlier…” she reminded me, “I’m starting to think it wasn’t Colton that we sensed earlier…” she spoke. I raised my brow at her, “What are you suggesting?” I could feel Adeline’s contemplation, going silent for a few moments.

“Try raising your hand on my woman again and let’s see if I was just bluffing.” Ivan swallowed nervously and retracted his hand immediately. “Good,” Adrian said, and then used his gun to point at Ivan and his Dad. “Now both of you. Leave. Go back to your houses and leave me and my mom the fuck alone,” He yelled making everyone flinch. Ivan Dad looked angry and humiliated but he didn't have any choice because Adrian was the one with a gun. Ivan’s Dad then turned to Ivan. “Son, let’s get out of here.”

Madden yelled again, and almost immediately, a gunshot came from the cabin. The bullet flew past Adeline's ear with a deadly hiss. "Micheal!!!" Madden yelled louder as the unstopping rain of gunshots kept coming her way. Sensing her daze, Madden stood to his feet too, facing her. A bullet hit his arm, but he locked the hell up before calling her again. "Get. On. The. Fucking Grass, Adeline!"

I cried but Darren and Celine already had their mind made up as Darren placed the gun on Adeline’s stomach. “M… mommy.” Adeline cried, staring at me and before I could blink, the sound of gunshots filled the air and the smell of gunpowder followed. Watching with my mouth opened and my eyes wide as Darren dropped Adeline’s lifeless body on the cold, hard ground. “Adeline?” I muttered as I crawled to her side but her face was pale, she wasn’t smiling and her eyes were closed. She was bleeding profusely and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get her to open her eyes. I couldn’t get her to call me ‘mommy’ once again.
