Adeline asked, her tone shaking. I don't know if she noticed it, but to my ear, it never escaped. This just proves how scared she was right now. “Your destiny is with Evangeline's hands,” Maximus smirked. My brows furrowed upon staring at Maximus. He called some warriors to drag Adeline out from the room, pulling her through the field. And because of Adeline's loud screams, it captured the attention of the wolves. They immediately run to the field to find out what happened. On the other hand, Drake came back.

Backing away, she pressed a trembling hand against her racing heart. The room was engulfed in darkness. A shiver crawled down her spine. Her ragged breaths echoed within the silent walls. Then... A low, rhythmic whistling sound came from the outside. Claire went completely still. Her eyes widened in horror. She instantly clamped both hands over her mouth, muffling the gasp threatening to escape. Fresh tears welled in her hazel eyes as she stared into the pitch-black room, too terrified to even breathe. I left it charging, so they could use it for as long as they wanted, and if what ghost hunters said was true, they could also draw energy from the battery at the same time.
