"We apologize for the intrusion." Callan's voice was a frosty whisper, barely audible but cutting. "State your business." The beta swallowed hard, clearly unnerved. "We’re searching for a runaway omega. Our Alpha has ordered all territories to be searched." Hazel’s heart stopped. Her pulse pounded in her ears, and she felt her legs go weak. She couldn’t breathe for a moment. Callan’s face remained a mask of neutrality. "An omega?" His voice was distant, almost indifferent. The beta nodded quickly. "Yes, sir. Female, early twenties. Auburn hair, green eyes." His gaze flicked toward Hazel, and she instinctively took a step back, her heart racing. "About her height and build, actually."
