Before I could run after him he was already going through the people on the dance floor and flipping through the pages. "Fuck," I cursed spilling some of my drink on my shirt and discarding the rest to go find him. I didlaps. have to bother because he was already returning to drop the book on my lap "The face looks familiar, I can't just place where I've seen her before." He cocked his head to the side and stroked the small string of beards growing on his chin. "You're like a nosey four year old." I hissed out angrily and kept the book tucked safely under my arm.

I was almost done flipping through it, and yet it wasn't there. I was disappointed when I got to the last page and still couldn't find it. But I was sure Austin found it that day. And I saw it too. I searched for the picture of the mark on my phone and placed the phone next to the book and began the search over again. When I got to each page, I made sure to check it well with the picture on my phone. I got to the last page of the book, and it was still the same news. The drawing isn't there.

The second word was *yours. The handwriting on the slip on the doormat was the same handwriting as the second word. He had written, in pencil, on the title page of a book he had moved from the floor of my living room on a Wednesday morning two months ago, the single word *yours,* and he had in the way the man he was put information into the world trusted that I would find it when I was ready to find it, and trusted that I would understand what the finding meant. The book was mine.

He suddenly stopped in front of his family picture and I could see the way his eyes became filled with sorrow despite how he was trying to hide it. I was tempted to ask him about the other boy in the frame but I knew it wasn't a good idea. He just kept staring at the picture for a long while before finally turning to me. “What did you find? I know you Raven…you found something. What is it?” I didn't speak immediately, considering if I wanted to tell him or not and then I finally spoke. "The Book of Alphas…I found The Book of Alphas."

I stumbled down the hall until i burst into the room, heading right at the slit between the bed where I’d hidden the book. But as I pushed my hand into that space. It was gone.

He sat back upright, taking the piece of paper from my hand as he carefully studied the title. "Do you have a picture of what it looks like?" I nodded, whipping the picture out of my screenshot folder. Rowan nodded. "I think I know where you can find this book, we can go together after work tomorrow." "No." I exclaimed. "Just let me know where I can find it." "Okay, I'll text it to you." Just then, my phone buzzed in my hand. The caller ID flashing in both our faces. I panicked. Dane Davenport.

He stared at me, “It has so many so called ‘theories’” I shook my head again, “No…” “No?” He smirked, “It was found under your bed.” !!! They must have turned everything upside down… “I-I-I,” I looked down in fear. Why? Why is this happening? No one should know about that book! I don’t ever take it out! “I-I’m just safekeeping it.” “I see,” He examined the book, “For whom, if I may ask?” “My fiance,” “Ah!” It was like he knew who I was talking about, “Right, that boy you’ve enchanted.”

“I’ll be back.” Before she could stop me, I was already walking out. I needed to find him. I searched everywhere I thought he could be. The halls were quieter than usual because everyone was at the match. My footsteps echoed as I walked through the empty hallways, checking the classrooms. Then I saw him. He was sitting alone, looking through some books. I rushed toward him. “Jace!” He looked up, surprised to see me. Before he could say anything, I grabbed his arm.

He would be the driving force I only just found out that I needed. "How are you here? You can't be here." My thoughts had finally gathered and my mind was one so I switched the attention from me to him. He shifted in his seat and moved to reveal the book that I thought I would never see again. "I had to give you this," he sounded fulfilled, his eyes expectant. "How did you find it?" I had completely ruled out the option that he did not find it but took it and for a second my mind skipped the fact that he could have read it.

Elsie says. "I'm going home?" I choke out, clutching my sore throat. "Yes. But you aren't going alone," Oberan says. "I'm coming, as well as Lauralie and Levi," Declan says, giving my hand a squeeze. Just then, Jesse bursted into the room with a book in his hand, waving it around. "I found it!" he yells. There is a collective sigh of relief that fills the room, and I didn't understand what was going on.
