I said with a much lackluster in me that I redefined the meaning of sarcasm. Suddenly and totally unexpected on my part she hit the brakes. If not for my body being secured by the seat belt, I would have been thrown forward, head slam into the dashboard, cracked skull, cut on my forehead, blood dripping down to my nose, dizziness and I'm petty sure I would have had a concussion as well by now.

“You need to go home and get some rest. You’ve been working nonstop for days now. And quite frankly, you look a mess.” I didn’t crack a smile at the humor in his tone. Instead, I remained there, with my head against my desk, wanting to be left alone. I remained in that position until I slept off. When I woke up hours later, it was already past 5pm. My headache had worsened, and a pain had developed in my neck. I tried to get some work done, reviewing documents that needed to be signed and going through various reports. I pretended like my problems didn’t exist, even though they very much did.

Fuck, everything hurts so damn bad. I prop myself up on my elbows which was the wrong choice. I really should know better than to do this by now. I stay like that for a few minutes because my head is threatening to explode. I slowly sit up leaning against the headboard. I closed my eyes trying calm this damn headache down. I heard the door to the room open, which sounded like the damn thing was falling off its hinges. I let out a hiss making someone chuckle. I wonder if I would get in trouble for killing someone for entering my room when my head is on the verge of exploding.

One of the senior executives, wiping tears of laughter from his eyes, added, “Maybe we should get Jerry to do all our presentations. At least then we’d be laughing through the pain.” Jerry leaned forward, adopting a more serious tone but still with a twinkle in his eye. “In all seriousness, folks, humor might not solve our problems, but it can definitely help us think more clearly. When you’re not bogged down by stress, you can see solutions you might have missed before.” The atmosphere in the room shifted noticeably. What had been a dire and despondent meeting was now infused with a lighter, more hopeful energy. People were exchanging ideas more freely, the initial doom and gloom replaced b

His large hand moved to stroke my hair comfortingly until he stopped laughing. “You’re not crazy. You’re just special…” he told me after his laughter had died down. “Isn’t that just another way of saying that I’m…not normal?” I asked. “Hmm…you’re not normal for sure and you’re extremely special for sure too. There’s nothing wrong with your brain and you’re not crazy,” he said with certainty. “How do you…know that?” I asked while feeling even more confused than before. “It’s simple, really. Before you felt your headache, do you remember what you did?” the prince asked.

the woman asked succeeding questions, her eyes carrying dark, heavy eyebags looking at him worriedly. He groaned once again and clasped his aching head, his dizziness getting stronger as his vision started to be moving in circles. His body felt like he was being dragged by the sea's strong, tidal waves and was so nauseating that he wanted to vomit his guts. "I'm really sorry I having you see me in this messy state right now," he apologized, looking at her fretful face. "I'm actually having a severe headache because of my hangov— what are you doing?" Adler was bewildered when she suddenly went to his side and wrapped an arm around his waist.

“Mrs. Morgan, we meet again. Ready to take that boot off?” the doctor asked. “Beyond ready!” Tabitha said excitedly. “Alright. Let’s get an x-ray and see what’s going on with it. Are you still having tenderness anywhere else?” “No. Everything else feels ok. I get headaches now and then but it’s not too bad.” “Due to the nature of your head injury, you may get those from time to time. I would suggest cutting your hair shorter so that the headaches don’t happen as often.”

A warm smile graced her face when she saw me, and I reciprocated with a tentative smile. "How are you?" the doctor inquired as he conducted his examination. "I feel better now. What happened to me, doc?" I asked, eager for an explanation to the mysterious episode that had unfolded. The doctor adjusted his glasses and sat down, ready to provide some clarity. "You experienced a severe headache, likely due to the adjustments in your medications. Your body is still adapting to the changes. I've made some modifications to your prescription to alleviate the symptoms. You might feel a bit disoriented for a while, but it should improve over time."

I hit my head with my palm "stupid, so fucking stupid!" Tears were rushing down my eyes in their torrents. "Are you ok babes?" Kevin rushed up to me with a worried look on her face. I was heaving like a mad woman. She engulfed me in a hug. "I know that he is your man but are you not feeling a little too strongly for his dad?" That was Kevin, always looking for ways to lighten up the mood. Dark humor she always said makes the world go round. But I couldn't even laugh at the joke at this moment since I realized that I was the joke myself. For believing in Darius again and putting my heart on the line.

He always looks good but he seems dull today and I have a feeling that something happened. "Hi, trouble maker. How are you?" He smiled and stood up to give me a hug and then a kiss before we moved over to sit on the couch. "I'm fine but you are not, what happened?" I asked curiously because he is always very cheerful. "I have a headache, massive hangover. I went out yesterday with the guys and I regret it." I don't know why I found his statement funny and I couldn't help but to laugh. "It's not funny babe, my head hurts." He whined and I laughed some more.
