I should have know a man like that is only in it for the fun, nothing more. Heartaches, it comes and goes. A normal feeling, like someone was stabbing his heart. That striking ache like someone had stabbed so deep into his heart, it breaks in two. The amount of hurt he felt was to the extreme that it has another name for that type of heartache. A Broken Heart.

Heartbreak is always very painful because before we had given our whole heart to someone precious. Whether it ends in disappointment, heartache or indeed love that is left but broken by circumstances. No matter how we are hurt, the longing will still come to fill our minds. The irony is that when we are alone, all we can remember are the wonderful memories that make us miss that person indeed more and torment us with the longing we have.

My heartbreak feels cold. It's like concrete drying in my chest. Perhaps the worst part is that the heartbreak is unexpected, as is always is; top of the world one minute and cut down the next. I feel like my heart is literally cracking in two, leaving a massive, gaping hole in my chest. Tears stab at my eyes, making my vision go blurry, but Alex does not even notice, his eyes stamped onto his beautiful erasthai. It was as if I could hear the sound of my heart shattering, not unlike the sharp crack of a wooden bat connected with a baseball. But no, it was messier than that. It was more like the relentless pounding of rain from a powerful thunderstorm on a tin roof, each dropping a hammer blow until the surface shattered into billions of tiny fragments. Fragments of my heart that I couldn’t piece back together by myself.

Murmurs filled the room as I walked toward the exit, everyone’s eyes following me. I hurried outside, grabbed the key to my car from the driver, and climbed inside. As soon as I was alone, I broke down, tears pouring down my face. My chest hurt, and I felt utterly lost. It was as if I was on the brink of losing my mind, a pain that was more intense than anything I had ever felt before. I tried to calm my racing heart, taking deep breaths to steady myself, but the hurt was too much, and I couldn’t deny it.

He looked at me hurt. "Mia," he began. "DON'T." I burst out, "DON'T YOU DARE! I SLAPPED THE GUY I LOVED BECAUSE OF YOU! I GOT MY HEART BROKEN BECAUSE OF YOU! DAMIEN IS LEAVING ME BECAUSE OF YOU!" I laughed humourlessly, "I was such a blind person." I held onto my hair tight, "such a blind person to not see this! Your true side...I always thought of you as the guy who could never harm anyone...BUT YOU ARE A MONSTER. HOW CAN YOU ENJOY PLAYING WITH PEOPLE'S FEELINGS. HOW CAN YOU BE SO RUTHLESS."
