Part 1: Jace Herondale The heart is a strange and amazing muscle and we all can't live or love without it, but most people don't think about it often. We don't think about the steady, faithful organ that beat one hundred thousand times a day. Most people have no idea that a woman’s heartbeat is faster than a man’s by about eight beats per minute, or that its four chambers pumps blood to every cell in the body except for the corneas.

She paid attention to the doctor carefully. "Well, according to Mrs. Sumantri's medical record, she suffers from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. As far as the examination that has been carried out, the rhythm of her heartbeat is irregular. Too slow. That's why I highly recommend implanting a device called an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator. This device helps keep the patient's heart rate normal and reduces the risk of death."
