He holds me in, and for a moment, it's solace, his peace draining out the noise. I hear his heart thud, as he presses my face against his chest. His breathing is stable, I can hear the fear in his voice, threatening to pour through tears. I missed this spot, like forever. It sure was cold and lonely for all these months. Hot festering eyes on me, I hear his apology. I know he regrets breaking the word to me, but who would think I'd feel the pain, for that loser of a human? Not even me, but here I am.

But still, his heart felt all warm and fuzzy . "Promise me, Anthony, you will leave her and come back to me" . When he heard the next sentence coming from her, he felt like his heart was poked with a thousand needles . The pain surged in like a dark cloud blocking all the light and happiness and gripped him from all sides . One moment he felt like he was on cloud nine and the very next all his hopes were smashed into pieces . He took a deep breath and consoled his heart like had been doing since ages . Then he held her Pinky finger with his own and said -

“It’s only a matter of time, your wounds will heal and luckily these are not considered too serious.” “W…” It hurts to talk, I cleared my throat as I tried another shot. “W-When will the wounds inside my heart heal?” He became speechless. “Valentina dear,” He held my hands and I raised an eyebrow at him. “There is nothing that wouldn’t heal as long as you provide it with the right treatment.” “What right treatments doc…” The rest of the words got stuck in my throat, I felt hot tears slipped out of the corners of my eyes and streamed into my ears. “Can you prescribe something that would make it stop?”

he asked. “Perfectly, and you will never hurt your mom or anyone you love again.” “How will you heal me?” “Like I heal everyone that has a problem. I will make the darkness go away, I will restore you to your true self without a strong power trying to burst out of you at any given time. You just have to trust me. You want to be healed right? You want to be a normal boy so that you can have friends and not hurt anyone that comes close to you, right?”

I almost sympathize with him knowing he has grown up with this as his normal. I make my way digging away at the tar substance clearing a little bit at a time. I can feel myself absorbing the tar and feel the constriction of my heart beating as I continue to work on his heart. My goal is to clear his heart first hoping that this might instil some humanity within him. This is a big job and one I will not be able to complete in one sitting. I did not know how this would work. Would it hold or would the tar start to seep back into the heart area after I finished my treatment for this morning?

I swallowed my guilt and sprinkled the oil on his shirt. Taking some, I placed it on his forehead. "You will find what you seek so desperately." I continued even though he gave me a funny frown. Putting some between his nose and lips so he would breathe it in properly, I said, "your heart will heal." At this point, Mason had figured out that something was wrong. "Cara, what-"

For all those nice words I decided to open the bathroom door. I looked at him for a few seconds, his eyes were watery. I hugged him tightly. I knew he only wanted the best for me, so I told him:
