Four Years Ago Noah's POV: Hearing the bell going off, I stood up from my chair as my back made a cracking sound. I did not even realize for how long I was sitting in front of my desktop. As I checked who it was, it turned out to be Eva, my girlfriend of five years. Wiping my tears, I made my way to the office. As I stepped inside, the sterile scent of medical equipment filled my senses, and my heart raced in anticipation. The doctor's somber expression hinted at the gravity of the situation. "Your mother has cancer and needs to be admitted immediately," the doctor said, his words hanging heavily in the air, each syllable landing like a weight upon my chest. The world around me seemed to blur as the reality of the statement sunk in. Admitted immediately – the urgency of the situation echoed in those words.

Swiftly flicking his cigarette, he forcefully turned the steering wheel in the opposite direction, causing the car to spin in circles around the girl. On the other side, Hiya, with her heart pounding, witnessed a black Mercedes approaching rapidly. Overwhelmed with fear, she clasped her hands over her ears and shut her eyes tightly, anticipating an imminent tragedy. In that moment, she believed it was her last day in this world, facing an inevitable and untimely demise.

Alima POV I stood in front of the Alpha’s door, my heart pounding so hard it felt like it would burst out of my chest. I didn’t want to be here. I didn’t want to face him. But I had no choice. He had requested to see me. My mind kept spinning with questions I didn’t have answers to. Why was this happening to me? What did I do to deserve this? I hesitated, then raised my hand and knocked softly. No answer. I waited, biting my lip nervously. I knocked again, a little louder this time. Still nothing. My breath quickened as I raised my hand a third time, then his voice sounded.

At first, Alessandro didn’t notice but then her grip on his hand loosened. “Anna?” he said. No response. His heart skipped. “Anna.” Still nothing. The monitor beside her changed. The steady beeping turned sharp, it sounded wrong. “Anna!” he said louder, panic rising. He shook her gently. No response. “Doctor!” he shouted. The room burst into chaos again as doctors and nurses rushed in. “Step back, sir!” “Clear the area!” Voices overlapped. Machines beeped loudly. Everything happened too fast. After what felt like forever, everything stopped.

My soul was afloat when my breathing stopped. I watched as the doctor cut my chest open and took out my heart. He hurried out of the operating room with it. I followed without thinking and saw my brother pacing anxiously in the hallway. "Was the heart taken out? Arrange the surgery for Yvette Sinclair immediately. This transplant must succeed. Failure is not allowed!" my brother ordered. My brother, Joseph Sinclair, had the authority as the Mafia Boss, so the doctors nodded in fear.

The rhythm was neither fast nor slow, each step landing with a perfect, chilling precision, as if a heel were pressing down directly on our heartbeats. A tall figure in an old-fashioned nurse's uniform materialized in the shadowed hallway, pushing a creaking medical cart laden with rows of oversized, gleaming syringes. "I'm begging you… Please save my daughter…" The surrounding chatter ceased abruptly as every eye fixed on the absurd scene. Meghan didn't even blink as she casually dialed Matthew's number. The moment the call connected, her voice carried a hint of feigned hurt. "Matt, please come save Taylor. Ms. Bradford hates me so much that she's trying to take the blood reserved for him. She's trying to kill us!" Danielle broke free from the guards and screamed into the phone. "Matthew, Olivia is bleeding! She has a coagulation disorder and needs a transfusion now! Tell the hospital to give us some blood, or she'll die!"

His eyes were squeezed shut, his breath warm on my face. I gasped, my hands coming up to brace against his chest, to push him away, but he covered them with his own, holding them there, right over his heart. I could feel its frantic, heavy rhythm. “Jax—” “Elliot,” he whispered my name, and it sounded like a prayer and a curse all at once. “Get away from me,” I said, but the words had no force. They were a reflex, the last defense of a heart that knew it was already lost.
