I ran my fingers via her hair, inhaling out barely entangled scent. I brushed my finger over her mark, feeling the outline of two hearts with a wolf in the middle. She shivered underneath my touch, moaning unconsiously. I moved my hand to my neck, rubbing my finger over the newly forming mark. It used to be a moon with two wolves in front of it. I smiled, I have a mate again....

Claire came back with Caleb. She couldn't even wait to step inside before rushing to share the good news with me. "The Lancaster family said they're sending someone on Christmas Eve to pick up the new heir. You should help pack Caleb's things." I sat quietly on the couch and gave her a calm nod. "Perfect timing. Let's sign the papers." Claire's smile faded. Her eyes landed on the divorce papers already sitting on the coffee table. She froze for a moment, clearly caught off guard. "You already prepared them?"

Inside is a framed picture. There are little circles and lines and letters that form a sort of triangle shape. I take a minute to figure it out, but I realize it’s a chemical structure. Below the picture, in red calligraphy letters, it says, ‘This is love.’ The ‘o’ is in the shape of a heart. When I look closer, I can see everything was hand drawn and painted. It’s beautiful. “Zara, d-did you make this?” I run my fingers over the glass,, gawking at the drawing. “What chemical is it?”

She said to herself, "These are so childish, why would he keep them framed?" Te quality of the drawings improvised in some, the artist had learned to colour the picture within the borders without scraping them across the picture. She was going through them lazily when she saw a drawing which attracted her consious attention. This was pecliar than the rest as it featured two human like figure- a girl and a boy. Bee stood there studying the picuture; the boy was taller than the girl and both held hands with a red heart floating between them. There was something scribbled above the heads of each figure.

I want him to hear the little heartbeat and take joy in the little miracle that we created together. But I’m not sure if he will come or not. Between Angelica and work he hasn’t had a lot of free time. And when he’s come to visit me, it has never been a good time. The only reason I know he’s even been by is that each time he comes he leaves his card with a heart drawn on the back. I have been collecting them. So far I’ve received 9.

She sucks at drawing. “I didn’t know my head was this big,” he choked. The exact millisecond my eyes skim the markings on the paper, the expression dominating my face freezes into absolute solid ice. "Whoa! The colors are so completely beautiful! My brain knew it represented a special gift for my station and Hayden! This super pretty card with the girl drawings must belong to my ledger!" I ran my thumb over the photo, tracing her face gently. “God… who are you and are you so beautiful?” I whispered without meaning to. A folded piece of paper sat underneath. I picked it up, unfolded it carefully. It was a drawing — a childish one — done by a child of probably six years old, with colored pencils, the edges already yellowed from age. It showed three stick figures, hand in hand: a tall man with dark hair, a beautiful woman beside him, and a little boy with silver hair and grey eyes, a smaller girl beside him, with a big red heart between them.
