Heat Wave Novels & Stories

A soft voice, just barely audible, floated between my conscious and unconscious state. ‘Winter. Winter, don’t worry. I’ll always be here for you. Stay strong, Winter. Stay strong…’

Dave explains as you follow him down the stairs. "What do you mean, they're causing a heat wave?" you question, confuse. "Of course, not on purpose. I think it's because of the un-fated she-wolves that it happens the way it does,” Dave draws his own conclusion. The moment you got outside, you felt it creeping up into your body again. "Oh, no." "Crap. You better run. I’ll do my best to fend off anyone coming after you,” Dave says, but before he could finish, your scent hit him. "Run!"

He couldn't even get that right. The only good thing right now is Goose found us another house. The dirty motel room was more than I could take. This place was available because it has no central air in this godforsaken desert heat. It has what's referred to as an evaporative cooling system. It circulates warm air while adding moisture in this damn over-abundant humidity. This wasteland is not the promised dry heat they brag about.

💦Shared Ride, Shared Heat💦 “Fuck, it’s hot tonight.” I fanned myself with my hand as I climbed into the back seat of the Uber Pool, the Miami night air thick and sticky even at 11:45 PM. My tight black mini dress clung to my curves, the hem riding high on my thighs from the movement. I had been out dancing with friends, but they’d paired off with guys at the club, leaving me to head back to my hotel alone.

Chapter 17… The sun hung mercilessly overhead, casting a scorching blaze upon the earth. With each step, the heat seemed to seep through every pore of my skin, enveloping me in a suffocating embrace. The air felt thick and heavy, as if I were wading through molasses. Sweat trickled down my back, forming rivulets that soaked into my shirt, clinging uncomfortably to my body. My throat felt parched, each breath I took like inhaling hot coals. The horizon shimmered with waves of heat, distorting the landscape into a mirage of illusion. In this sweltering inferno, time seemed to slow to a crawl, each moment stretching out endlessly beneath the relentless sun.

Sharon The heat was insufferable. It had come out of nowhere, blasting through the city and melting everything and everyone in its path. It had even reached all the way out to the suburbs, stifling my entire life. As if it wasn’t bad enough with the lock down, now we had to suffer through unbearable heat on top of it. I wasn’t sure how I was going to survive the rest of the summer. I was already covered in sweat. I could feel it trickling down my spine and falling between my butt cheeks.

I curled forward, moaning softly. Kael growled low in response. “That sound,” he said. “Make that noise again and I will completely lose control.” “Good,” I said between breaths. “Lose control. Kill me, end this now.” “Die?” he whispered. “No. I have better plans for you.” “What plans?” I asked, looking up at him. “To ease your pain,” he said quietly. “Make you beg properly.” “I’ll never beg you,” I said, though my voice shook. The heat wave hit me like a wall, and I rocked slightly on the floor. “I need you,” I whispered.
