You’re an earl.” “True but I don’t think saying you’re the one who tames the wild ‘soon to be’ a duke sounds great.” She laughed. Damn it, even when he drove her crazy, he still managed to get her smile. “Well that isn’t just a step, that’s a leap right there,” he commented, one corner of his mouth rose and formed a charming, lopsided smile.

Heather McBride. At your service.” Jo’s mouth fell open as Cadon said the phrase that would’ve come out of her mouth if she’d been capable of speaking. “Well, I’ll be damned.”

He asked, looking slightly concerned. I couldn't answer him because of the pain but it seems like he took the initiative to call one as I heard the door open and a few seconds later, another man arrived. The other man came closer at me and put his hand on top of my head. He muttered a few things I couldn't understand and then the pain was gone. "How are you feeling now Lady Audrey? I am Jan, the healer here at the National Magic Institution." He introduced himself. Did he just call me Lady Audrey? Lady? National Magic Institution? Wait. I know these things. Audrey, that's my name. I'm the daughter of the late duchess of Garrick. I'm a second year student at the National Magic Institution.

"She found this place, She remembered and she made it beautiful for you. For us." I watched as Heather turned her gaze to the sarcophagi. She took a deep breath and spoke, her voice clear and respectful. "Hello, Your Majesties. My name is Heather. Your son... your son misses you very much. It is an honour to be here, to see the love he has for you. I will do my best to take care of him, just as you surely would have." She reached out and gently touched a single red rose petal.

“And I’m sorry about...” “Yes, I’ll come over to braid your hair,” I cut in quickly. “Thank you for bringing it.” I didn’t give him a chance to finish. I shut the door quite fast. “I’ve seen him somewhere,” Duke said, now standing close behind me. “I’m sure you have,” I replied. “He’s Harry Peters. The musician.” Duke tilted his head slightly, thinking. “Yeah, I think we’ve crossed paths before. I just can’t place it.”

“What happened in the meeting?” “Oh, it was very chaotic, your highness. I saw Lady Natalia with my own eyes, alive and well! I heard she’s the famous Duchess of the North in Polivia.” It felt like her world was crashing down. She hoped, no, prayed that Natalia was truly dead and her life would go on u til everyone forgot about Natalia. But not only was she alive, she was a duchess! She was free somewhere else, most likely living a life she always dreamed about while she was stuck with horrible titles and people judging her at every turn.

The thought made her heart beat fast and her palms feel sweaty. The helicopter circled around before zeroing in on a particular building. The Duke had told her that he’d fly her directly to his office where they could chat in peace and this was clearly it. Anna gripped tightly to her usual distance as the helicopter came in to land on the building’s rooftop helipad, and when she got out she was instantly surrounded by people. A no-nonsense, businesslike woman who introduced herself as Bonnie, Cedric’s PA, whisked her down to the waiting room outside the Duke’s office.

There is obviously nothing a mother won’t do for her son, including put her own life at risk. Just then, Rick came through the door with Teaghan in tow. With grace and confidence, Teaghan came in looking like all the Luna that she will be soon enough. “Luna Daria, thank you for meeting me here. This is my mate and soon to be Luna, Teaghan. Teaghan, this is Luna Daria Black. She is the Hidden Falls Pack Luna.” Teaghan steps up to Daria and raises her hand. Daria takes her hand in a firm grip and shakes.

She then read the words again. “Hea…Heather?...” He brows creased. Out of the blue, a scene passed by her view, rendering her to flinch. It was her memory of the time she jumped down the building. She remembered it vividly when a guy called her Heather before everything went black. But, what is the correlation between Heather and her? Why was this name is etched on a flesh and why is she inside this almost destroyed space? The ground shook, premoniting the coming of a fall. Elaine had no time to ponder more about it, yet she need more time to guess. Before the rubble of flesh again fell on her for the third time, she loudly announced a random sentence on a flesh.

Ryan was instantly silenced, his mouth opening and closing like a fish gasping for air. I looked directly at Marcus, the man I had once thought I loved more than life itself.
