“Meet me at the checkout in twenty.”
“Fine,” Aaron nodded, grabbing a basket and heading toward the household aisle.
Caleb pushed the cart toward the grocery section. Having fended for himself for years, grocery shopping was second nature to him. He moved with efficiency, selecting crisp greens and ripe tomatoes. At the meat counter, a quick glance at the color and the sell-by date was all he needed to pick the best cuts of bacon and steak. Everything went smoothly.
Meanwhile, in another corner of the store, Aaron was making his selections. He tossed in a few toothbrushes, a tube of toothpaste, and a pack of fresh towels.
