She said that I treat this as an amulet to keep me safe. She also gave gifts to all the servants of the mansion.” Two new clients entered the bar and caught Rheie’s attention, “If I may be excused, master. New guests just arrived.” “Go.” Hades watched her go to the newcomers and ask for their orders.

The day of the Alpha King election finally arrived. I dressed carefully in a flowing emerald gown that emphasized my recovered strength and Alpha bloodline. The Silver Moon Pack's ancient ceremonial jewelry adorned my neck and wrists, each piece a symbol of our pack's power and prestige. Derek waited for me at the entrance to the Grand Assembly Hall, looking every inch the confident Alpha candidate in his formal black suit. His eyes lit up when he saw me approaching. "Scarlett," he breathed, taking my hand and bringing it to his lips. "You look absolutely stunning. How are you feeling?"

Beside him, Trigon appeared, who gave him a red bracelet with adorned chains, and which were outlined as braided. "Child, there are no business arrangements when it comes to bonds like yours. Only destiny wearing the mask of choice, playing out the same eternal dance until it reaches its conclusion." She stands, signaling our conversation is ending. But before I can leave, she grips my wrist with surprising strength. "One more thing. The pendant you wear. Keep it close. Always. And if it ever grows too warm or begins to glow too bright, come find me immediately. Do you understand?" My heart races. "I don't understand. What is it?" She releases my wrist and turns away, suddenly looking every one of her years.

Her hands shook as she splashed water on her face, trying to steady her breathing. Then, in the mirror, she saw him. Black hoodie. Black jeans. Cap pulled low. A thin scar ran down his cheek, catching the light when he moved. Nina’s breath caught in her throat. “What do you want?” she whispered. Her voice trembled, but she tried to hold it steady. He didn’t respond.

"Even though the guy is smart, he's actually directionally challenged." Xandrine shakes her head and stares at her brother once again. This is taking a bit too long. She approaches the glass display cabinet and sees Leandre eyeing the ruby and the diamond necklace. "Just pick the Diamond Teardrop necklace. Laughter spilled from his lips all of a sudden. "That's enough. Melanie, come on out. See? I told you Hades isn't really mad at you." The moment his voice rang out, Melanie could be seen exiting from the washroom inside the private room. Hades narrowed his eyes slightly when he saw her. Then, he noticed the necklace slung around her neck. The intricate pendant adorning the necklace happened to be a bejeweled version of a delphinium. With tears shimmering in her eyes, Melanie choked out, "Hades, do you still remember this necklace? You gave it to me in the past as a gift."
