Hector continues to work meticulously, his hands moving fast as if he had cleaned and bandaged hundreds, thousands of wounds before. “There are rolls of gauze bandaged in the cabinet to your left. Bring one to me,” Hector asks. It takes me a minute or two to locate the bandages Hector wants and give it to him. “I never thought the protective wards can be taken down,” I comment absently. “With the right spell and Caleb’s blood….” I try not to think of the implications of what Hector just said. “Good thing Caleb thought of building a bunker to protect the pack,” I try to say something positive.

Edward looked at the child in her arms. "Hilda, honey!" He called, stunned at the sight of his daughter and his granddaughter. Hilda left the kitchen when she heard him and walked to it. "Yes, Edward! You called-." Hilda stopped when she saw her daughter. She was surprised by her unannounced visit. She left her husband's side and walked to her daughter. "Becky!" Rebecca couldn't help herself and let the tears run down her face. She was happy to see her mother. Hilda had her hand on her daughter's cheek. She smiled happily.

“Snow, you are absolutely incredible. Do you know this?” Damien said. I looked up at him bewildered. I just told this man that the largest assassin company in the world was out to get him personally, and he thinks I'm incredible? I shook my head at him. “What?” I said.

“How dare you claim that you didn’t interfere!? Are you telling me that you’re not the one who instigated Hector?” Heidi was very certain that Maisie was the person who had instigated Hector. He had never refused any of her requests before this. Maisie stood in front of Heidi and chuckled. “Grandmother, humans are capable of change. Think about this, why would Hector want to leave the Vanderbilts and live independently away from Coralia? Have you ever thought about this?”
