Helena wiped the blood from her face, eyes flashing with fury, “You bitch…”
But I wasn’t listening.
I lunged.
Even with my body weakened, even with the drug still coursing through my veins, I moved on pure instinct. My fingers wrapped around the metal tray beside me, and without hesitation, I swung it at her.
The tray connected with Helena’s head with a resounding thud.
She collapsed.
Panting, I stumbled forward, my legs barely supporting me. The room spun violently, but I pushed through it. My hand flew to the table, gripping it for balance as I scanned the room.
