I looked up as a sleek, matte-black gunship broke through the clouds, its landing lights cutting bright white beams through the air.
The ship hovered ten feet off the ground, its thrusters kicking up a cloud of dust and trash before settling down on the yard. The side door hissed, sliding back to reveal the main cabin.
Penelope stepped down onto the ramp, holding a portable scanner in one hand with a tactical rifle slung over her shoulder.
She took one look at my bare chest, my bloodied knuckles, and the empty space behind me, then stopped dead at the base of the ramp.
"Where is he?" she asked, her eyes scanning the empty yard. "Where is the prince?"
