Elena POV “What’s your name?” I asked the maid as she scurried about, arranging and rearranging things in my room. I stood awkwardly by the door, the presence of a stranger in my room made me uneasy even though she was so kind. She smiled at me as she lifted the curtains and let the sunlight stream into the room. “My name is Poppy, Luna but everyone calls me Puppet. You can call me whichever one you prefer.” “Puppet?” I bit out.

The story had all the hallmarks of a timeless children’s film—a tale of bravery, friendship, and the desire to find one’s way home. Beside her, Aaron and Winnie were utterly absorbed as the children fell into another world, laughing at the antics of the small, whimsical creatures called the Horts, who soon came to help the children. These creatures, only three feet tall, with expressive eyes and quirky personalities, were exactly the kind of characters that sparked children’s imaginations. The kids giggled every time one of the Horts cracked a joke or made a funny face, while Dominic sat quietly, one arm draped protectively around Winnie’s shoulders.

It won’t be long before they are here. “Would you like to know their genders?” I look at Theo and he nods and I nod too. “Ok, let’s see, shall we?” She moves the wand over the first pup as it kicks, causing us to laugh. “Pup A is a…Girl. Congratulations.” I laugh as tears stream down my face. “Ok, pup B is a…Boy. One of each, congratulations to you both.” I look towards Theo and he is crying, too. This now feels real more real. To the point I’m not just gaining weight for the sake of it kind of real.

Some were Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, Rapunzel, Robin Hood, Thumbelina and many more memorable fairytale characters throughout the centuries. “Looks like someone is enjoying this.” A red hooded figure approached me and I immediately recognized her from afar because of the unique devilish grin she had every time she saw me. “You look... well, Miss Blair,” I said nervously, trying to compose and calm myself since I felt a hint of happiness earlier when I was watching the festival.

Then, he stretched out his arms toward her, beckoning to her to hold him. “Ah! Why are you up so soon, little one?” Charlotte quickly took the baby in her arms and rubbed the tip of her nose against his tender little cheek. “Why aren’t you crying, little one? You’re such a good boy. You’re the most obedient, clever little baby in the world!”

The characters were a reading Buttercup, a dressed-up Blossom, and a napping Bubbles. Ambrose didn't even think twice before choosing the napping Bubbles. He didn't know why. But, he always felt that Larissa was the kind of person who liked to lounge at home. Sure enough, at the same time, Larissa also chose the napping Bubbles.
