A massive whirlwind erupted, lifting soldiers into the air before throwing them back to the ground with bone-shattering force. Sera, meanwhile, was the embodiment of destruction. Her silver hair streamed behind her as she weaved through the battlefield, every object she touched turning into a weapon as hard as diamond. She ripped a spear from the ground and swung it like a staff, smashing through shields and armor with ease. A soldier slashed at her, but she caught the blade in her hand, turning it into a crystal sword in an instant, before driving it straight through his chest. She spun on her heel, blocking another attack and hacking the soldier down with a machete she created.

She decapitated one after the other, and within what felt like seconds, the entire group of vampires attacking her were dead. Sera handed herself almost as well. She had incredible strength, and she swung her axe wildly and expertly, jabbing, slashing, even using its wooden shaft to block blows. When that wasn’t enough, she also leaned back and kicked, head-butted, elbowed. She was a one-woman force. And she killed several of them. But she was not as good as Caitlin. Several more pounced on her from behind, sending her crashing to the ground, and one vampire reached up with a sword, ready to bring it down on her.

The air was thick with black smoke that had me choking and barely seeing the way out. I ran through the corridor, Aurora’s body cradled against my chest. I held her so tight that I did not know if I was hurting her. Her faint breathing was my only reassurance that she was still alive.

Inside her mind, Kaela stirred with sudden interest. I know her wolf, Kaela said, her ancient voice threaded with confusion and grief. Zahara. I know Zahara.

Victor's fixation had transferred from mother to daughter, and Sera had spent years trying to build a case that would stop him before he could complete the transfer. And she'd failed. Arasne asked. I nodded, rubbed my hands up and down my arms. Latisha snapped her teeth at me as she flung herself across the room. Scarlet pushed me to the side as she stood, her flaming sword ready, and waited for the serpentine lady. The Wardens zipped between Scarlet and Latisha, their own swords angled and ready in defense of Scarlet and me. Latisha was unable to stop her forward momentum. Her fileted body lay in long narrow slices, dark orange blood seeping into the floor. The trees that created the hard structure for the Queen's house shuddered as Latisha's...essence soaked through the small slats of the floor.

The doctor was shocked beyond words, Sera was definitely not a normal werewolf.... she was very sure of that.... but if Sera wasn’t a normal werewolf, then what was she? Dr Elara pulled out a small vial of blood from her pocket. The label on the vial was titled “Seras blood for health check.” Dr Elara took the vial of blood to her work table and sat down. “It’s time to find out what you really are Miss Sera.” She said before opening the bottle.
