Whisper of Thoughts
I saw her.
Clara. She was sitting in a café by the sea, looking at an empty chair.
I’m coming for you, I thought, the words sinking into the dark. Even if I don't know who I am when I get there, I will find my way back to you.
I blew out the candle, and the darkness claimed the room. The signal was out there now, traveling through the night, a desperate, beautiful piece of music looking for a home.
I waited, holding my breath, hoping that somewhere, in some quiet place, she was listening.
