Jojo nudged Bill's motionless body with her foot, nodding in satisfaction. A chorus of gasps and whispers erupted from the book club members. "Oh God, is he dead?" someone exclaimed. Brandon's panicked voice rose above the din. "I don't know how to hide a dead body! I don't want to hide a dead body! I've never hidden a dead body in my life!" Kaitlyn's sharp tone cut through the chaos. "Nobody's going to hide a dead body. He's probably fainted. We need to call an ambulance, now."

"You've got no right to talk about love. A hidden girlfriend? Nah, just my replacement." Anger surged within me. Before I could shoot back, her smile turned cruel. She shoved past me, knocking my shoulder hard. "Know your place." Her footsteps faded, leaving me clutching my chest. The pain was unbearable. Luke failed me, but Karma always came back around. Once I calmed down, I went home. Mike called. "Your fiancé got you an animal biology book with real specimens inside. Pretty cool, right? How are you going to thank me?"

Hovering up above in the laboratory as a ghostly specter, I watched as my corpse lay naked in front of Nathan Lowe. My face was disfigured beyond recognition, and both my arms were crushed to a pulp. Nathan heaved a sigh before looking over at Gina Mason, who stood beside him with an innocent expression. "Why did you go so far?" Hearing that, Gina exhaled in relief. She deduced that Nathan hadn't recognized the body to be mine. "You'll help me, right, Nate?" Gina asked, her voice inspiring pity and compassion in all who heard her.

David confidently walked towards the black van when he heard the car door slide open, dragging along some baseball bat. David's eyes widened like saucers upon sighting the dead bodies all over the floorboard and car seats of the black van. His body trembled in fear, and he stumbled back, landing on the ground with a thud. David instinctively crawled back, his fearful eyes staring at lifeless ones. "Aah!" He screamed, "B-body! Dad, there're corpses!" Tray signaled his men to surround the black van. Fuck, it smells like shit! David covered his nose in disgust, the sickening smell of blood overwhelming his senses.

Adrian replied, relaying his discovery. Upon hearing Adrian's observations, a consensus formed among them. Yet, further revelations eluded them, prompting the need for alternative investigative avenues. In the midst of their contemplation, an odd occurrence unfolded—some of the bodies showed signs of movement. "Hmm?" Adrian murmured, observing as more and more corpses stirred, ominously advancing towards them. "Oh no!" Arnold exclaimed, leaping away from the nearest corpse in astonishment. However, it persisted, seemingly under external control. Missing its initial target, it rebounded swiftly, launching another assault on Arnold.

We both stand there in shock looking into the doorway. This demon stands there waving and smiling, our lifeless bodies laying across each other on the floor in front of it. I grab her hand tighter and run pulling her behind me. We run down the hallway that doesn't seem to end. We run and see another open door, we look inside and it's the same demon with our bodies under him, smiling and waving.

It is believed that it can kill anything and anyone, including hybrids. Someone out there has it and is probably waiting for the perfect time to use it. Everybody I know has looked for it and nobody found it. Some even tried to counter the magic and that got them nowhere. The witch who created the dagger was that powerful. She was so powerful that even after she died, her body refused to decay. According to rumors, her body still contains an amount of magic. So we can be killed. But as the blinding light of the overloading collar illuminated the dark depths of the ice cave, the shadows at the far end of the tunnel suddenly shifted. The light did not reveal an empty cave. It revealed rows of massive, dormant brass cylinders embedded in the ice walls, and standing directly in front of us, awoken by the sudden burst of thermal energy, was a towering, heavily armored figure wrapped in rotting crimson cloth. The figure slowly raised a massive, serrated executioner’s axe, its featureless iron helm locking directly onto the blinding light of my burning throat.

I glanced at Gideon and smiled faintly. “I hope you’re enjoying the book,” I said softly. “Even though I don’t think you’re the romance type.” I let out a quiet laugh, then turned fully toward him before opening the book and beginning to read out loud. That night, I spent the entire day in Gideon’s room, reading quietly and texting Ronald whenever I could. No one had been able to locate the mysterious vampire. Even worse, when I sent two of my warriors to bury the bodies of the vampires I killed, the bodies were gone. Completely vanished. That meant we could not confirm whether they belonged to a coven or if someone had retrieved them afterward. Nothing about this situation felt right.

The woman raised a brow. “A phone?” The man nodded. “But it’s dead, though.” “Do you think it’s for a vampire?” She asked curiously. He shook his head. “No vampire would be stupid enough to leave their phone in the woods. It’s probably for a dump teenager.”
