I burned, then opened my eyes and saw Cadmus, and I was surrounded by a fiery light, a circle forming around us. The light shimmered and pulsed, pushing back any enemies who tried to get close. Its warmth wrapped us in a shield. It felt like more than just protection, the light drew from our connection; a bond built on trust and defiance. When I looked at the wolf it was burnt to a crisp.
