"Dante—!" But he was already moving. His massive, fused-metal chassis tore itself away from the deck plates with a screech of grinding titanium, and he launched himself into the path of the deletion beam, his jaws wide, ready to swallow the void itself.

The demon moved with surprising speed for his size, his blade crashing down with enough force to crack the stone floor. Adrian twisted aside. Steel shrieked against steel as he raised his sword to deflect the next strike.
