Historical Books To Read Novels & Stories

Wow. I was drooling. It wasn't just a room with books. It was a sanctuary. Floor-to-ceiling shelves packed with hardcovers, a rolling ladder, a massive fireplace that looked like it hadn't been used in decades. The scent of old paper and leather hit me, comforting and familiar. I ran my finger along the spines. ‘The Art of War’, ‘Sun Tzu’. ‘Histories of the Roman Empire’. Biographies of kings and conquerors. Heavy stuff. Interspersed with them were fiction classics. Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Dumas.

Mr. Fren leans forward with both hands pressed firmly on his desk in front of him, shoulders squared as he waits for students to take their seat. His desk is neatly arranged, with a small nameplate reading “Mr. Fren– History” on it and a stack of books besides the nameplate, including titles such as The Roman Empire: A Very Short Introduction, The Silk Roads, Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond, and The Peloponnesian War by Donald Kagan. A black mug with the phrase “History is written by those who survive” sits nearby, alongside a pen holder filled with pens and pencils.

Someone who wanted to read it had to be careful if they didn't want to make a mistake. I did just that. Reading all those books without caring about the passing of time. I felt that I couldn't see Zephyr now. I was afraid that the anger that consumed me would invite a conflict that would end in regret. I'd rather vent on these books while finding out about something. I must do my objective here first. at last, now here in the History section. unlike the books from other shelves who has the same way of oldness in them, the books in the History section has different stages of being old. some are really worn out and some where just fairly new. grabbing a random book, I skimmed through the pages, wanting to know what era or year this was written, or what year did the content of the book happened. but the book only talked about the happenings of the coronation of the King Youseff Troy Von Travensky and Queen Violetta Suzette Perues. grabbing another book, i skimmed again but it was not the one i was looking for, ‘Maybe i should go for the newer ones.’
