My darkness shredded the air, but the plates drank it, old wards humming as if mocking me.
I snarled and went feral, letting teeth bare, letting speed carry me low. My fist slammed into its knee joint, stone cracked, barely. Too slow. Too strong. The warden’s arm whipped out, clipped my ribs, and sent me into the chapel wall hard enough to see black.
