Missing her mom, Holly decided to go and stay in her bed tonight, to feel closer to her. Emotionally exhausted from the day, she went to bed and did what she did every night lately, she pulled out the photo of Lincoln and Eve smiling over chocolate chip pancakes, a single tear rolled down from Holly’s eyes and landed on the pillow. Holly thought the picture might make Lincoln feel better, it helped her, so she sent it to him quickly, but too nervous to read any replies she tucked her phone in the bed side draw and went to sleep.

My stomach still feels like it might explode if I move to fast, so dancing is a bad idea. You okay by yourself? Holly grinned. She was doing way better than just okay. Yeah. “Ugh, forget it. It’s his private life anyway.” She sighed, slumping into her seat. Fixing this mess is impossible. Out of desperation, or madness, Hailey opened her phone and placed an order. Erica Loft's exaggerated expression suggested that she wanted credit for the thoughtful gift. "Look, I've even brought you the hornet's nest. "You can make more for yourself if there isn't enough wine. Hahaha!" Erica's laugh was so shrill. It made my stinging pain feel like a bad joke. "That's enough, you crazy woman!" Joe Fulham cursed at the situation silently. He dragged Erica into a room without giving me a second glance, and they argued inside once again.

It was the kind of Christmas Eve I had always loved; cozy, familiar, safe. "Werewolves." My cousin whispered dramatically, leaning forward so the younger kids hung on her every word. She rounded the edge of a freight car and froze. A figure stood by the far gate. Tall. Hooded. Watching. Riley’s pulse kicked into overdrive. “Noah?” she called, barely louder than breath. The figure didn’t answer. Instead, it raised one hand — palm open — and revealed something small. It floated for a second, glowing softly, before it dropped to the ground. Then the figure turned and sprinted. “Hey—!” Riley chased, but the figure slipped through the fence like smoke, vanishing into the city blur beyond.

She dialed a number she knew off head and called. "It takes great talent and skill to veil great talent and skill. Little Lotus, how is the brighter side of the world?" A crooked old female voice answered the phone. "Only psychopaths and manipulators can achieve hiding their talents and skills Elder Hoshi. Everything is going as planned thank you for asking. “I don’t like that look.’ That only makes me grin more widely. It’s only a couple of minutes before Holly knocks on the door. I go and open it and she flits in carrying a tray of cookies. I notice that they look really good, so that’s an improvement.
