SILVER PACT
The stars above flickered, constellations rotating again, this time not randomly but deliberately, forming a glyph in the sky:
A mirrored spiral.
Those with the marks on their palms felt it first.
Some collapsed in convulsions.
Others stood motionless for hours, whispering glyphs no one taught them.
A boy in the far east began carving spirals into the sand with his fingers, mumbling:
“It’s waking. The center that never formed.”
And in the empty cities, spirals of light rose into the air, forming walkers made of echo and dust constructs with no name, no face, moving toward one place:
