••• Chapter Eight ALEX At last, I'm finally home. I have been hospitalized for two days because of the Devil. I ran upstairs to my room and lock my door. I really miss my room, the pink and purple dots dancing in my sky blue wall. Hey, I know it is pretty childish but it’s better that those white painted wall of the hospital.

Near dawn, they went home. The car was silent. Mom held my suitcase the way she would hold a baby. Her fingers kept rubbing the faded Peppa Pig sticker on the side, again and again, as if the suitcase might disappear too if she loosened her grip. Dad drove with his eyes fixed on the road. He did not say a word. When they passed the intersection, he stepped on the brake. The car stopped. The road had already been cleaned. Nothing remained.

His finger moved on the trigger— Slam. The door of my room banged open. I walked out barefoot, dragging the IV pole with me. My leg came up and kicked the gun out of his mouth. I looked at him. "Die?" A cold laugh. "That's far too cheap for you." I crouched down in front of him, level with his eyes. "I want you awake every single day living inside the nightmare of killing your own daughter." "You don't get to die."

Once Alexi was done with her mother’s makeup, Alexi moved on to giving her mother a manicure and pedicure. Alexi saw a TV on the wall and Alexi decided to stream a show on A****n Prime, about werewolf teenagers. It is about a high school boy that got bit by an Alpha Werewolf and turned into a werewolf. It really seems surprisingly good; I hope mother likes the show. Alexi laughed at how entertaining and corny the show is. Alexi started to nod her head following asleep, until she felt her stomach start to grumble. This had awakened Alexi. “Mom, I need to go eat. I will come back, okay? I love you.”
