Life On Fire

Life On Fire

As the little bell on top of the door rang out a sweet tune, both Lani and Blake twisted around expecting another package but were instead faced with Jax' angered face. "Jax? What's wrong?" Lani asked. "The feds, they're here." "What?" Blake said with his face etched in confusion, "What'd they want now?" "They're here to snoop around, they know about the fire and they want to know what happened," Jax spoke in a bored tone. "What? The fire that happened nearly a month ago? I call bullshit," Blake laughed as he placed more paint in Lani's hair. She giggled shortly before returning her attention back to Jax, "He's right, there's nothing to investigate," Lani added.

Build You Up

Build You Up

Adrian groans, but follows behind me, catching up and wrapping his arms around me to hold my belly as I walk. I can see Rick out back at the gas fire pit, lighting it with Landon who has a long stick, ready for marshmallows. He already has all the outdoor warmers lit, and the chairs set up. I used to have problems with wood burning fires, but gas fires don’t bother me. They are much more controlled and easy to manage. Adrian must have figured I wouldn’t want fires in our new home. Our fireplace inside is just an electric heater with a fire display. Our house doesn’t use gas for anything. My burners are electric and the whole house has solar panels that it runs off of instead of propane.

Second Chances Under the Tree

Second Chances Under the Tree

I stumbled out of the car before it had fully stopped, my breath catching as I took in the sight of flames consuming my house, the firefighters dousing them with powerful streams of water. Mrs Reynolds appeared at my side, her face pale and tear-streaked. “Callie, I’m so sorry. I…I tried to save what I could, but…” I shook my head, unable to form words. My house. My memories. Everything was gone. A firefighter approached, his expression somber. “Are you the homeowner?” I nodded, my voice catching in my throat. “The fire’s under control now, but the damage is extensive. It looks like it started in the kitchen, possibly an electrical fault.”

COLLECTION OF LUST AND LOVE

COLLECTION OF LUST AND LOVE

“I was thirteen. My parents and I were watching television. My sister was with my grandmother, but I really didn’t want to stay there. Gran was nagging me a lot, and I just wanted to be home playing my video games. I can’t even remember which one I was into. I was in bed when it happened. I just remember waking up ’cause I was hot, and then I saw the smoke. The house was on fire, and I didn’t know what to do. A kid who barely paid attention to anything, let alone fire safety.” I pull my shirt over my head.

In Love With His Coldhearted Mafia Brother

In Love With His Coldhearted Mafia Brother

"Neighbors reported smoke coming from the building about twenty minutes ago. We have crews on scene now, but the fire spread quickly. I need you to come down here. We need to know what we're dealing with." Again, what?! "My house?" She slowly stood up. "My house is on fire? How is my house on fire? Ate you sure you got the address right?" Is this a prank call? "We're doing everything we can, ma'am. But you need to get here." The call ended. Mira stared at the phone for a moment, her brain trying to catch-up with what she just heard. How the heck is her house on fire!? The house with her mother's antique dining table and her father's record collection and every piece of her life packed into t

The Deal Breaker

The Deal Breaker

After what had happened the night before, James went up to his room and lay down. He was wide awake, and it wouldn't be long before the sun came up anyway. The fire had happened because of an appliance that had been left plugged in the bathroom. Probably a hair straightener or something like that. It started there, and quickly caught on the towel next to it, moving on to the curtains and the carpet.

Accidentally Pregnant By My Alpha Best friends

Accidentally Pregnant By My Alpha Best friends

Gina exclaimed, extending her hand and pointing in the direction where we were headed. We stopped briefly. Bodhi and Gina started to jump up and down, thinking it was something magical. Baxter and I shared a glance, and then we dropped the fishes, carried our kids, and wandered toward the direction. From a distance, we saw a fire had started in the home that Baxter had been building with such hard work. It had not begun in one spot. It had engulfed the entire base he had set out with his tireless efforts. “Fuck! Baxter, how did that happen? Our home is gone,” I cried almost instantly, rushing toward the fire.

Love this currently ongoing novel. The story is great. The writing is great! Madeline goes through many ups and downs and plenty of strife and angst but also romance and werewolves and societies that have some bad leadership. I don’t want to give anything away as it is such a good read!

When I Flash-Married a Billionaire, My Ex Went on a Hunger Strike

The voice on the other end was firm and professional. Adora froze. The police? “Yes, I am.” The officer continued quickly, “Your home is on fire. We need you to come immediately.” “What?” Adora’s eyes widened in shock. “My home’s on fire? Riverpoint Residence?”

Castle Fires

Castle Fires

As I was about to open my mouth again, I was interrupted by the voices that had grown more terrifying. “Run!” They cried. “RUN!” In a heartbeat, the cold air was replaced by a sudden wave of searing heat, prompting me to spin around and face the horrifying sight before me. The manor, where thousands of Farsuleias had left a mark on the history of our lineage, was now consumed by a raging inferno, its flames eagerly dancing upon the foundations. My breath caught in my chest as I watched the fire's voracious hunger devour everything in its path.

Playing With Fire

Playing With Fire

I may not have much but I'd like to keep a hold on my dignity. I kick a small pebble that skitters into the darkness of the pavement as I walk down, I hear festive sounds coming from the pub at the end of this street but I ignore it. No use hoping to have something you never will. Even though I have magical blood, I'm a fire slifer. I have no clue how to harness my power so it's basically useless. I've only had one or two incidents of nearly burning a house down but other than that I feel basically human.
