We took the bus to her shared apartment, and the moment we were inside her room, I threw my bag onto the floor and sat down on the chair behind the study desk. "No, it's the spirit of Christmases past," Javier yelled back to his roommate as he rolled his eyes. "Of course it has to be; I was wondering who else had keys to freely enter our apartment," he replied, and soon a boy with brown hair and gorgeous pale green eyes appeared in the doorway of the room, staring at me, who was still standing awkwardly at the door. Jaden, Melissa, and I were walking through the school halls. It was already lunchtime so we decided to eat outside today. While we walked, Jaden and Melissa were talking about an anime called 'Seven deadly sins'. The anime is really good, and I hope for a second season, but for now, I'm just reading the manga. Stacy immediately saw me sitting across from Lewis. The smile on her face froze in an instant. Her pupils widened abruptly, as if she had seen a ghost. "Heather?" Without even looking at her, I lifted my iced latte and took a slow sip. Lewis frowned and looked at Stacy with displeasure. "You know her?" I casually stirred the ice in my cup. "She is my roommate, Stacy White. " Stacy bit down hard on her lower lip. Panic and jealousy flashed in her eyes. She glanced at Lewis's strikingly attractive face, then back at me.

Ignoring the tension, I stepped closer to the black-curtained room and gently pulled it aside. What I saw caught me off guard. The space was huge—bigger than I expected. It had bookshelves, wardrobes, a sofa, round table, and even another king-sized bed. The room was dim, lit only by a single lamp. Ryou was at the far end, hunched over his desk. He looked... broken. Pale face, messy hair, deep eye bags. He looked like a ghost. "Good morning, Master," I said softly. "I brought beef steak, grilled sandwiches, veggie salad, orange juice, and tea."

"Sofia is just my assistant. That's all." "Matthew, it's not about who she is," I replied, keeping my voice even. "It's about boundaries. About trust." I faced him. "Your secret room is our space, just like this home. When you let others in, it's like you're saying I'm not special anymore." Matthew gazed into my eyes, his fingers lightly touching my cheek. "You'll always be special, Elena. I promise, nothing like this will happen again," he said seriously. With that, he kissed my forehead. "That secret room will always be just ours."
