Rage flared within my heart, but I held it back and quickly wiped the water off my in-laws. Diane had a short fuse. She would not stand for this insult, so she snapped, "And who are you supposed to be, you uneducated swine? How dare you call Felix a homeless man!" Zack did not hold back. Instead, he pressed on the attack. He picked up a ceramic ornament and hurled it at Diane. I deflected it with my hand, and the ornament grazed me.

Homer was more amused than concerned. “Dick.” Then I twisted the knob, and it was locked. I was relieved that she did not try to escape. “You should practice more often,” Homer said with a smirk. I shook my head in irritation and knocked on our signal. “Fuck you.”

The chuckle slowly turned into laughter and the laughter slowly turned into a smile. “Fuck you.”

he questioned again, this time in a serious tone. “I was just curious… I am really sorry.” I sighed. He was quiet for some time as if he was loading some of the things I just said. “Homer…” he sighed, sounding like a disappointed parent “I know how it looks. I am really sorry.” I breathed as I put the container back where I found it. “Homer, you’re really ruining my mood. I woke up today. Everything was working well for me, and I was so happy, and then you go ahead and do this,” he spoke in a calm tone.

Hayes pretended not to smile while Leo climbed all over him. And slowly, I smiled too. How good it felt to be home.

Chapter 018 "Fuck, fuck, fuck! Fucking Nathan Monroe!" Homer found himself in a deeply embarrassing situation at the dinner party, where he had expended millions on gifts yet was dismissed by Lawrence Monroe. His frustration was directed towards Nathan and the Summers family, leading him to disregard all of them, including Kendra.

"That was smooth," she said, pulling away from me as she laughed. I crossed my arms over my chest and leaned back against the railing, waiting for her to sober up. As untimely as this was, it amused me how she could laugh in serious situations. It seemed like the only time she was genuinely happy.
