I look around one more time, making sure that we aren't being watched, as I pull the book out of the sand, dusting off the cover. There isn't a name. As I open the book and flip through the pages, they are slightly damp, with almost all the pages empty. I get to the middle, and that is when I see the first drop of ink in the book. The handwriting is more or less scribbling, but I can clearly read everything.

He's twenty years old and he's baiting a thing built out of a hundred dead people’s bones into chasing him, and there's no time to be sick about it because I have to get to Leon. You know if Katherine was able to get down with Daniel, he would despise Kimberly so much that he wouldn’t fight for her anymore. And you know that without him, she is weak.” The third skeleton said, with a tone of disappointment.
