"Not good! You can't even do something trivial like this." Barend threw the thick book that was on the table right at Abelard's face. He stood on his knees. The man's face reddened and his veins tightened. His jaw tightened, holding back the anger that was bubbling because the plan he had devised didn't go well. "Sorry, Bard." That was all Abelard could say. "I'll give you one more chance." Abelard clenched his fists tightly. However, he didn't say anything, waiting for Barend to finish his orders first.

The man had jet black hair and a scar across an eye, it was Bardok. Bardok smiled “you interested in a deal?” leanunya paused “sure” Bardok smiled even more “ok here’s the deal I get you in the guild and you do a job for me now got to make sure just no one gets in you know” she smiled “well then you’ve got a deal. What’s the job?” Bardok paused looking around, “see that elf over there. I want you to steal his golden watch from his stand and put it with that man there” Leanunya nodded seeing the people he was indicating to “ok easy enough I’ll be back”

“N—no.” I just witnessed first-hand a real murder. “I really like the expression you had on your face.” He chuckled. He sounded insane. He continue to stride and so I tried to keep myself away, but then I bumped onto Klay’s chest. That’s when I remember that I am not yet alone. “Klay! B—Bardo...! Bardp is dead!” I cried. I was hoping for him to get mad at the man, but what he said next left me dumbfounded.

Otsana the healer turned toward him with a cruelty that came only from honest knowledge. “You stop lying, and then you stop reaching for what your truth has damaged.” The words landed like a final sentence. Bardolph nodded, tears standing in his eyes but not falling, as if even grief had learned not to ask me for comfort. “I will not touch the bond again,” he said. The black thread slowed. Not healed. Only listening. I stepped backward. One step. Then another. Each step away from Bardolph made the bond scream, but each step also kept the black poison from crossing fully into my crown.
