“The sunlight… it…” Frowning, Titus moves forward and reaches out toward the light, but stops as he too becomes burned. “What?” He hisses, jerking back. “How?” “She…” I whisper, looking at the dead woman. “Who is she?” For a moment, Titus doesn’t respond as he too looks at the woman, but when his gaze finally comes to mine and I see true panic there, I realize how grave of a mistake I’ve made. “She is the priestess of light.”

But amidst the confusion, a faint light began to shimmer in the distance, drawing her attention. She felt a pull toward it, like a beacon in the darkness, offering her a sliver of hope. As she moved closer, the light grew brighter, illuminating her surroundings. Shapes began to form—a forest bathed in soft, ethereal light, the trees towering above her, their leaves rustling gently in an unseen breeze. Suddenly, a figure stepped out from behind one of the trees. It was a woman, her features delicate and otherworldly, her eyes shimmering with a wisdom that felt ancient. He whipped his head around the environment in a bid to search for who had spoken earlier but it rather seemed that he was the only one in the hall before a flash of white light suddenly appeared in front of him that he had to shield his hands over his head to protect his eyes from the light’s intensity. He heard the soft thudding of feet echo when the light began to fade, dropping to a light ball in a woman’s palm. The latter walked forward with a pink, chiffon fabric draped over her shoulders and barely covering her bare breast, cascading all the way down to her lower uncovered body.

My skin goes cold. My mate doesn’t look at me. “By the light of the Goddess,” the holy woman prays, “and by Her darkness, we find our way. For too long, we have been haunted by one impossible specter. One threat from which there is no recovery. By Her grace and wisdom, may we finally overcome it.”

The blackness lasted only for a short time as everywhere suddenly lit up with a bright white light which caused me to squint. The light was so bright that it had the ability to illuminate a whole pack at once. It was intriguing, and at the same time fascinating especially when I suddenly started to notice a form in the light. Out of curiosity, I took a closer look into the light and almost had my breath taken away when I saw a woman who could be easily considered the most beautiful woman I had ever seen all through my existence on earth. She had flawless white skin, her rare silver-coloured long hair flowed all the way to her waist and below, and her eyebrows and eyelashes were equally silve
