Hooked And Sinkered Novels & Stories

Only if their daughter had joined them. _____ (Thoughts) Not all the endings are happy, but are not sad either. Apparently, I wanted to show the three phases. One, when the mother dies giving the birth to a baby, two, when both are alive and the last, if the mother is saved but not the child. Although reactions vary from person to person and I only showed what I perceive. So that's the ending of HOOKED! This story did not had a cold arrogant and rude billionaire but a hot handsome, sweet and understanding lead. Someone who makes the heart flutter and cheeks blush, rather than just sending shivers down the spine.

He dove to the bottom, wedged his fingers into the crevices of the rock to anchor himself, and stayed there until his lungs were nearly out of oxygen. He surfaced and hung on the edge of the step, gulping air. His lips were purple. His fingers were stiff. His whole body was shaking. That's when the water below the rock shifted. A faint blue light drifted up from below, barely visible, like a shadow of moonlight. It hovered near his feet for one second. A single second. Then swept quickly back into the depths.

The shudder that went through the sinking remains of the void-iron fortress was not caused by the tectonic fault line. It was a slow, deep, rhythmic vibration that resonated through the water and vibrated directly up the iron mainmast where Killian still held me pinned. The boiling, green-tinted water of the Sinking Shelf suddenly went deathly still, the massive plumes of steam collapsing back into the sea as a terrifying, localized pressure drop sucked the air right out of our lungs.

"The undertow is pulling us!" Alexander didn't look at the whirlpool. He kept his eyes locked on a narrow, rusty crane hook dangling from the old shipping yards to our right. He accelerated the boat straight toward the steel structure, the hull scraping against the concrete pylon just as the water completely vanished beneath us. He didn't use a rope. He grabbed my wrists, his grip burning hot, lifting me and Leo straight out of the sinking vessel and throwing us onto the iron platform of the shipping crane. A split second later, our speed boat was pulled down into the dark hole, exploding against the submerged concrete chambers below.

After being friends for so long, one would think it would be easy, but the truth of the matter was that in front of him she felt forever exposed. What had he done to steal her heart and cause her to think of no one but him? She squinted through the bright rays of light reflected by the water and focused on him. His head was tilted down, his teeth biting at his lip as he worked the worm onto the hook. His dark brown hair was a disheveled mess and his strong masculine features were contorted in concentration, highlighting a wicked hot mouth that she was dying to kiss.

Dunn’s expression turned more puzzled, and he lowered his voice even more. “That’s the strange part,” he admitted. “Medically, he shouldn’t have survived what happened to him. He was dragged under for too long. Normally, the lungs would flood, resulting in irreversible damage. However, in his case, we extracted far less water than we would have expected for someone who had been submerged for so long. His lungs aren’t as damaged. It's almost as if something stopped the water from fully entering his lungs."

Remarkably, he stood upright, unwavering, and worked with the precision of someone sober. The clinking of dishes echoed through the room as he scrubbed them diligently, the scent of soap lingering in the air. It was a testament to his resilience, defying the odds and performing the task like any ordinary person would. “So what made you drink so much today?” I asked, settling onto the cool kitchen counter next to the sink. Dylan, his innocent eyes glistening, replied, “Who’s drunk?” I chuckled, unable to contain my amusement. “You, Dylan. Even a kid could tell.”

His hands waved, gesturing to his men, one, two, three. BRAAKKKK The warehouse door opened, the guards inside immediately came out and fought Mr.'s men. Hook. The count was wrong, over six, twenty-five! Crazy, Mr. thought. Hook. But not Hook his name if he could not beat them in one hit, his eyes staring intently at the person who was tied to the end of the room, the man sat weakly bound by his arms and legs. His face was covered with white plastic, it was definitely Felix, but Mr. Hook doesn't know if he's still alive, at least if it's Felix he'll bring his body home.

No matter what they were about to see, they had to confirm it with their own eyes. “Felix!” Hearing his name, Felix turned, spotted them, and gestured for the officers to let them through. They joined Felix, and Sebastian’s face was already pale as paper when he asked, “What’s the situation? Who is it?” Felix’s expression was grim. “A fisherman hooked a woven sack while casting in the reservoir. When he pulled it in, he found it contained dismembered female remains—not a complete body. The medical examiner is checking now. Identity still needs confirmation.”

He nodded, pouring the amber liquid into a glass and sliding it over. I took a slow sip, the burn trailing down my throat, settling into my chest. The weight of the evening pressed down on me, but the alcohol dulled the sharp edges. Reaching for a cigarette from the communal stash on the bar, I lit it with a shaky hand. The first inhale was acrid, filling my lungs with smoke and distraction. Then, a voice from a nearby booth caught my attention. “I heard they dumped him in the ocean. Tied up. Never surfaced.”
