His wrinkled face looked like it was crawling with countless wriggling worms. I shuddered and stepped back, whispering to Silvia, "Good thing I've got you. This place is terrifying." She snorted and suddenly shoved me forward, straight toward George. With an icy laugh, she said, "This pretty boy will make a great offering. You're going to love him." Before I could react, George gestured, and several eerie puppets stepped forward to pin me down and drain my blood. A sharp bell rang out, echoing through the night.

When Felix pulled up to the Peters’ home, he saw that it had been decorated for Halloween. A trio of small hollowed out pumpkins, each with a unique design, sat on the steps leading to the door. The door itself was adorned with a wreath made of autumn leaves, pinecones and faux spiders. A life-sized skeleton beside the door appeared to be waving to passersby.

One of them toppled off of the truck and rolled to where Jake was standing. He took a moment to look at it with its carved out eyes and mouth designed to give a demonic appearance but this looked as if it was grinning at him, mocking him. You fucking idiot! Why do you hate Halloween! Don't worry, the pumpkin didn't speak but it might as well have as Jake looked at it from a different angle and thought it could actually be in a world of pain. One that humans had no idea about. How I miss the days when all you had to worry about was going down some hungry human's throat and now I'm being cut up like a freak!

Xavier joked. "According to my grandfather, a month after the boy's death, students started missing. They were all found dead in the woods a week or two after. They dubbed the serial killer as Sunnyville Reaper. And, from what my grandfather told me, your parents are one of those kids who bullied him." The student said before leaving. Even Xavier who always care less about anything around him fell silent. He could never imagine that his mother would be involved in something so dark like that.

The Pagans would carve faces into pumpkins and put them outside, to ward away negative energy – and evil spirits. Supernatural creatures, too. Some people believed that the pumpkin’s faces were like masks, making the inhabitants look like demons to the creatures of Hell that walked the earth.

He blinks at me, and I see him take a discreet sniff of the air. My heart nearly crawls into my mouth at the sight. “I—We have—We have a special of the day, th—the Halloween Pumpkin Frappe.” My hand is gripping the knife so tightly, the blade slices my skin. The scent of my blood is thick in the air now, and the Alpha studies me, frowning. I’m going to hyperventilate. I know I am.

That was until the hatred he felt for the thing that had touched him. The mocking sound of safety up the ravine. And like true hatred, Robby hadn’t known what true terror was, either. That, too, changed Halloween night, there in the ravine with the leaves in his mouth, blood coursing down his chin from where he’d bitten his lips. That man was back now to make Robby one of his own. One of the uglies. Robby buried his head in the crook of his arm, screaming, crying. He pressed the trigger on his emergency buzzer again, the electric cord wrapped around him.

“I’ll read and you stamp? Or do you want to read and I’ll stamp?” “You read. I’ll stamp.” I listened to his chuckle. “Thought so.” We got straight to work, side by side, going through all of the papers. I grabbed one from the stack and couldn’t contain the scoff. “This can’t be serious.” I waved it as Lyle plucked it from my fingers. “Oh, no … it’s very serious. After all, we can’t have a proper festival if our pumpkins aren’t plump enough.” “Their greatest concern is whether the pumpkin will make a good moon in the festival. We really have to sign papers like this?” I clicked my tongue, letting out an annoyed sigh.

Edison hesitates at first but eventually follows us. As we search for the perfect pumpkins, I catch Eris’ gaze on multiple occasions. Each time, my heart races faster and faster. I can’t deny the pull I feel towards him. “Why are all the pumpkins so ugly?!” Alex suddenly growls. “Are they hiding the pretty ones?” I roll my eyes, “Alex, just because they don’t look perfect doesn’t mean they won’t make great jack-o-lanterns. Besides, imperfections can make them look scarier.”

Suddenly, Adrian realized that these individuals indeed harbored ulterior motives. Adrian expanded his awareness, and the sight before him left him speechless. The entire hall was now teeming with an array of ghosts and monsters. Among them were towering old men with only one eye, lanterns swaying on a single leg, malformed boys with just one limb each, women clad in white exuding a bone-chilling aura, and skeletal figures draped in human skin...
