I waited until the fight in my shoulders eased a fraction. Truly the silent people are the most dangerous of all. He removed his hand. “You’re insane,” I whispered. “Maybe.” He stood and started unbuttoning his shirt. “But I’m done being the quiet one you walk all over.” His shirt hit the floor. I couldn’t look away. Lean muscle from years of construction work, a faint scar on his ribs I’d never bothered to ask about. He toed off his boots, unbuckled his belt, and let his jeans drop.

Because he had just been ripped apart. I turned around slowly and stared at the “pet” who had done the ripping. He still had blood on his face, but somehow looked… innocent. “I was hungry,” he murmured. Maybe it was my imagination, but his pupils looked a little sharper than before. [Wow. Trying to slut-shame someone in a horror dungeon? He had it coming.] [Pop the champagne. Ding-dong, the jerk is dead.] [Lol the stans are out. She can sleep with monsters but nobody can call her out?]

She leans in close and sniffs me, her long tangled grey hair tickling my nose. Hearing a demented laugh explode from her, I inwardly cringe while she raises her head and peers at me with the scariest eyes I have ever seen. When they look at me, it's as if I am peering into a deep red abyss, so terrifying that I could only ever imagine it in my worst of nightmares. Her face is grotesque and when she laughs again, I see two teeth. Those two teeth though, look razor sharp like fangs.
