HALLOWEEN

HALLOWEEN

Chapter 27. *.* She could still see the short thickset man, slowly walking in the direction. While the zombies were busy with what they were doing without taking interest in what that does not concern them. She threw the bone at a dark spot, opposite where he was walking to and quickly went back to the hiding. The bone hit a rodent that was eating something on the dirty ground, it squeaked and ran under the legs of the zombies and ran past the short thickset man, climbing on Igor and going out of sight.

Digging up My Bones

Digging up My Bones

My throat felt constricted, and I couldn't utter a word. "Kristen! Get out here right now! Stop playing dead inside!" Samuel shouted hoarsely into the courtyard. The commotion startled Jessie Vance, who lived next door. She stepped out of her yard and asked Samuel, "Young man, who are you looking for? No one has lived here for a long time." Samuel composed himself and asked, "Didn't Kristen live here? Has she moved away?" Jessie's eyes dimmed as she sighed. "Are you talking about Kristen Zucker? That poor young woman died three years ago."

She hurriedly drew back, creating a little distance away from the skeletons whose heads crawled back to their bodies and continued to slowly creep towards her. Loreen immediately glanced around her for any weapon she could use, but her eyes fell on dark liquids that were oozing out from where she was standing. Her eyes fluttered as her body trembled and she slowly lowered her eyes to look down, and the minute she did, as though her spirit flew out of her body, she became motionless.

The Game of Breaking Bones

The Game of Breaking Bones

I would come back to him. Julian rose to his feet, swaying. He stumbled to the corner and wrapped both hands around the heavy steel pipe. He closed his eyes. All he could see was me carrying him through the rain. He clenched his jaw, raised the pipe high above his head, and swung it down with every ounce of strength left in his body -- straight into his own left kneecap. *CRACK.* The sickening, brittle snap of shattering bone echoed through the tiny basement. Blinding pain ripped through his entire body. His kneecap was smashed to pieces. His lower leg twisted at a grotesque, unnatural angle.

But instead of softening their hearts, it only enraged them further. "Why are you crying? It's not like Grace is dead! Get out of here! I don't want to see you!" Overcome with guilt and grief, my parents called in a forensic expert to determine where I had lived. The examination confirmed that the dilapidated room had indeed been my residence. However, the bloodstains revealed a chilling truth—I had been dead for over a year. Hearing this, my parents collapsed on the spot, overcome by the weight of the revelation.

Claimed by My Enemy Alpha Mate

Claimed by My Enemy Alpha Mate

Everything looked strangely normal—except for one horrifying detail. Aside from Klaus and Veronica, every person I saw was a skeleton. Their heads appeared human, but their limbs were nothing but bones. Their pale necks, arms, and ankles starkly reminded me that this wasn’t a normal place. This was the world of the dead. Even though I had mentally prepared myself, the sight of so many skeletons still sent a wave of cold fear through my body. My fingers went numb, and my vision blurred as I struggled to make sense of it all.

The Almighty Dragon General

A vicious, overwhelming aura emanated from the skeleton almost instantaneously. James and Zeno were swept several meters away due to the skeleton’s aura as they were caught completely off-guard. Meanwhile, the skeleton scanned the surroundings and rose up in the air. Then, it flew toward the sky at an incredible speed. “Stop right there!” Zeno shouted and quickly went after the skeleton. Just as Zeno was about to catch up to the skeleton, it turned around abruptly and blasted two laser beams from its eye sockets aiming at Zeno. Zeno could sense the threatening force of the skeletonʼs attack, and he swiftly dodged out of the way.

This end is terrible. I strongly believe there is a volume 2 or part 2. I refuse to be left hanging and thinking of a million ways the whole thing played out. Patiently waiting for volume 2............

Princess of Lunaris

Princess of Lunaris

Such a horrible sight overwhelmed the terrified young woman as she tried to escape from the fully emerged black skeleton. All around her, skeletons and beastly creatures arose from the black puddles. Malevolent dark energy cloaked their bodies. The skeleton's crimson eyes stared down at the frightened girl whose eyes were rimmed with tears. A cry of fear ready to escape her throat was cut short by a sword in the skeleton's hand. Slashing it down, the girl's blood soaked the streets, but it was soon absorbed by the sword the skeleton wielded in his hand.

The Prince Who Was Raised in Hell

The Prince Who Was Raised in Hell

It took him a lot of effort to get up from the ground. Seeing Caspian recklessly walking toward him, as if he was going to trample a worm to death, the doubt and fear in the skeleton's heart instantly turned into monstrous anger. "What the hell ghost are you?" The skeleton's mouth tilted as he roared out. Caspian stopped and seemed to think about it. "You're right. I really am a ghost." The skeleton was speechless. Seeing that Caspian was getting closer and closer, the skeleton suddenly began to tremble wildly, making crackling sounds. No one knew whether he was scared or angry.

What happened to the original writer of this book? The new writer is a far cry from the first one in terms of style, creativity, dialogue and story telling. He has turned a once very arresting story into a very boring one. It is sad.
