I came down the stairs and Jace was standing in the foyer in a black suit with his hair actually styled for once and a look on his face when he saw me that made me feel‚ for the first time in days‚ like maybe I wasn't as broken as I thought. "Wow‚" he said. “Beautiful…” "You clean up nice‚ Thornton‚" I said. "You look... I don't even have a word. You look incredible‚ Aria." My mom was practically vibrating next to him. "Doesn't she? That dress was made for her. And Jace‚ tell me about your family. Aria mentioned your father is a warrior?" "Yes‚ Luna Diane. He's a senior warrior in the Silvercrest Pack‚ been serving about fifteen years now. My mom runs the pack's medical center."

She dropped it with a gasp. Jace caught it before it hit the ground. “She’s using these. Drawing power from something ancient. I think Thorne found out. I think you just found proof of it.” Maren stared at him. He wasn’t just a stable boy. Not anymore. “Jace… what are you?” He met her gaze. And this time, there was no nervousness in his eyes. Only quiet steel. “I’m the last son of the Hollow Moon line. My family was slaughtered before I could shift. They thought they killed us all.”

Jace straightened, and when he spoke again, his voice rang out over the entire gathering — louder than the bell, colder than the moonlight, and final. "I, Alpha Jace of the Makasi Moon Pack, refuse to let this fat thing be my Luna."

They lack humanity and empathy. Dealing with them is like calling onto dead. In all things, never involve yourself with the Lucado if you want to live a very long time. I play with the dagger in my hand, bored as hell, but work needs to be done. “Someone called Jace is in the city, he ran from the Wolversons. He’s hiding out in the old hotel, Myers. Jace hug me and kiss my forehead,I pout hating that my hair wasn't level at the back. "What's wrong?". "This guy put gum in my hair and I had to cut it out".I cross my arms. "What did you use to cut it out?".Trent ask. "Jack cut it out with his razor". "Why does jack has a razor?". "I don't know he didn't gave me a good answer". This really happened, but the guy who called him a "dumb husky" got kicked out of the circle by Jace ages ago. Jace didn't stop there, either—he made sure that guy couldn't even stay in Seavora. Jace was petty like that. Lucky for everyone, he didn't have much real power or influence; otherwise, anyone who crossed him would be totally screwed. A guy like him would've been a sneaky, backstabbing minister in ancient times, whispering in a king's ear.

He folds, hands pawing uselessly at the shaft like he can convince it to be a splinter instead of a death. Hazel steps out from behind a stack of crates, bow already drawn again. Her eyes flash when she sees me. “Thought you could party without us?” she calls. I see Jace, low and fast, a knife in each hand. He drops a wolf with a quiet, neat cut and shoulders through to us like he’s heard the phrase target acquisition and decided to build a religion around it. Mara follows with three of ours, calm as glass, her expression the kind that makes men forget they had bravado.

I am not going to attach my feelings to any hunter now. I got up and stormed out of his room to my room. I can't keep my cool now. "Why does he always say the things that hurt me the most? I thought that after so many years, he would have changed, but no, he is still the same douchebag that knows nothing but to hurt me mentally, emotionally, and physically." When his words rang in my ears again, a few tears slipped from my eyes. Jace is five years older than me. He is 29, and he was one of my trainers when I was living with the hunters. His quality of observing everything led him to know about me the most, but I hate him for the same reason. He always has the exact words to hurt me.

I sat on the center couch, observing everyone closely while flipping through my phone. Everything was in place. My thought was cut short when Jace spoke. “Are we really stopping at three?” Jace asked, kicking his feet up on the edge of the glass table. “Because I have a thing for that sniper on the Frostbane team. She’s all lean and Ahhhh he screamed “ She’s real pretty, too.” I didn’t expect much from him, he is still a young adult rouge after all. “Classy,” Vera muttered. “She smiled at me after the match,” Jage said with a smirk. “Is that not consent for murder?”
