Tyle swallowed hard when he turned to see Jace glaring dangerously at him, "Hehe, am just joking about that dude, don't take me serious bro" he laughed nervously. "Why is she with that Asshole guy again," Jace said amidst gritted teeth, clenching his fist in anger. "Dude, do you just say again? Are they courting or what" Tyle said with a bemused expression. "He is courting death then" he breathed out dangerously.

Zeke asked. “I'm done waiting around. I’m declaring war.” Jace said, his voice deadly. “We will fight with you. When are you playing to move?” Zeke asked. “Dante has been in the hospital after the attack, I am going there shortly to touch base with him and my warriors then I will let you know when. It will be soon. The quicker you can get here the better.” Jace said as he got into his car.

I say smiling as Jace bows deeply. "It's an honour," Jace says as Deimos calmly stares at him. His gaze is cold and intimidating. He hasn't said a word and seems to be trying to figure Jace out. "Deimos, this is Jace. He used to be a healer at my pack. He left to help others a year before we met. His skills are unique and top-notch." I say as Deimos nods as a greeting. I clear my throat and say, "Let's head in shall we? We have a lot of catching up to do." The wolves agree as we all walk inside.

Jace follows obediently behind me like a large dog with his inhumanely large sword on his back. He is wearing all his leather clothes today and his regular black mask that covers half of his face, so I can’t ogle his good looks. And yes, he is hot. A heavy, calloused fist collided with Calista’s frame, slamming her onto the wooden chair. A sharp groan escaped her lips as she collapsed forward. Standing above her, her father, Jake, watched with a twisted smirk as blood welled from her wounds. “I love hurting you, do you know that?” he murmured, his voice dripping with malice. “It satisfies me, gives me chills, reminds me of just how much strength I still have left in my system, even at my age.”

“I’m here.” No answer. The wind stirred, brushing the hair from my face. For a moment, I thought I was alone. Then the bond inside me flared hot. “Aria.” I spun. Jace stepped out from the treeline, his chest heaving like he’d run the whole way. His storm-gray eyes found mine, raw and furious. “You shouldn’t be here,” I hissed. “Neither should you.” His voice was rough, his jaw tight. “Did you really think I’d let you walk into this alone?”

"Jace!" But Jace was already moving. The Aegis flared gold in his eyes—controlled, precise, a shield not a weapon. The agent lunged. Jace caught his wrist, and the syringe clattered to the stage. Security swarmed. The agent was dragged away, his silver eyes wild with fury. The crowd was screaming, but Jace stood unmoved. He raised the microphone. "You wanted to know what I am. I'm a hockey player. I'm a Kingston. I carry something ancient in my blood, but it doesn't control me. I control it." He looked at me. "With help."

Takoda closed his eyes briefly, letting out a silent, long-suffering prayer for strength to whatever ancient primal gods watched over his bloodline. Jace looked incredibly pleased with his parting shot, turning on his leather heel and starting to walk back toward his muddy, oversized truck. Halfway across the gravel clearing, he looked over his broad shoulder, raising a hand in a mock salute. "See you both at Winter Lights," he shouted before climbing into the high cab and slamming the heavy door shut.
