Julian sat with Daniel, Renner, and Aldridge in a hallway that suddenly felt enormous, all four of them watching a closed door that held, behind it, the answer to a question three months of investigation and three weeks of testimony had built toward.
"How long does this usually take?" Daniel asked quietly.
"There's no usually," Julian said. "I've seen juries come back in forty minutes and I've seen them come back in eight days. It doesn't mean anything about which way it's going, no matter what anyone tells you."
"That's not comforting."
