TEMPT ME, MASTER
This was because of the Law of the Beast.
High up on the mountain stood a castle made of black stone. It was cold, old, and full of shadows. A man lived there named Silas. But the people did not call him a man. They called him the Beast. The stories said he was a giant. They said he was cursed by a witch long ago. Because of the curse, his body never stopped growing. He was too big, too strong, and he had a hunger that could never be filled.
To keep the village safe, the people had to send a tribute. They had to send one young woman to live in the castle for ten years. Most girls who went there never came back.
