The doctor explained, “The blood volume needs to remain consistent. We are low on plasma at the infirmary. This is mainly recycling. Your father has about six liters of blood in him, while you have about five.”
“Okay.” The lines went in our arms, and the bags filled quickly.
“The infusion process takes a little longer. We are going to start a saline drip and then add the blood. This will take about an hour.” The nurses continued to work under the doctor’s direction.
“I love you, Daddy.” I rested my head on his shoulder.
“I love you, too, Em.” He kissed my forehead, filling me with his love and devotion.
Ghost and the doctor stood off to the side, quietly talking.
